Why did she bother.? Must have cost squillions.

Galaxy Thu 04-Aug-22 23:25:00

I agree Monica, I think I felt that about Jade Goody at times.

Zoejory Thu 04-Aug-22 23:22:14

I always fancied Davy Jones. The Monkee that is. I also had a manager called Davy Jones. I didn't fancy him but boy, was he funny. Every day at work was like a visit to a comedy club.

Chewbacca Thu 04-Aug-22 23:19:27

Give me strength!!! grin grin grin

Callistemon21 Thu 04-Aug-22 23:12:12

Perhaps someone will put her on the last train to Clarksville.

Chewbacca Thu 04-Aug-22 22:55:48

yes but he wasn't in a locker at the bottom of the deep blue sea Callistemon! But, he did sing "I'm Believer" which is possibly helpful?

Callistemon21 Thu 04-Aug-22 22:49:22

Davy Jones was one of the Monkees, wasn't he?
The cute British one!
They sang Daydream Believer which seems appropriate

Callistemon21 Thu 04-Aug-22 22:46:35

Callistemon even in the darkest times people need to find time to laugh

Yes, I know, M0nica but the front pages??!

She should now become a postscript in the media.

M0nica Thu 04-Aug-22 22:09:40

It is like Jade Goody and East Angular and its location. There are certain chunks of information we just expect people with even a minimal education to know and 'Davy Jones locker' is such a familiar phrase.

And you are right, in hard times like this, we do need humour to get us buy and events like this really do add to the gaiety of the nation. But sometimes there comes a point when someone's behaviour is so perverse and lacking in insight that you begin to feel uneasy. I think I have reached that point in this case.

MOnica, you’re right of course to be concerned about RV’s future. What happens when those closest to her begin to challenge the false narrative she’s living in.

I’m slightly ashamed of still being amused by the Davy Jones Locker, what WAG ever went near the North Sea, Wagatha Christie etc . Shallow I know but it’s a distraction from the tough times we live in

dolphindaisy Thu 04-Aug-22 20:44:46

Regarding the phone being lost in the North Sea - I love the comment from someone who asked "When did a WAG ever go near the North Sea?"

Grannynannywanny Thu 04-Aug-22 20:19:30

?

Chewbacca Thu 04-Aug-22 20:17:12

Regrettably not Grannynannywanny, they suspect he's still in his locker.

Grannynannywanny Thu 04-Aug-22 20:08:19

I didn’t see the programme. Did they track down Davy Jones for an interview??

M0nica Thu 04-Aug-22 20:07:56

Callistemon even in the darkest times people need to find time to laugh.

In current times, I am afraid RV is providing the light relief. She has made herself a laughing stock and we are all having a good guffaw, before returning to the many dangers facing us right now.

I actually think this issue has now gone beyond being a laughing matter and there must surely now be a real concerns about the mental health of the lady involved and what may lie ahead for her.

Chewbacca Thu 04-Aug-22 20:00:00

No problem Iam64; the broad message last night was "Look, none of this was anything to do with me!" Self delusion is a powerful thing innit? grin

Iam64 Thu 04-Aug-22 19:27:08

Oh thanks for putting me right chewbacca ?

Chewbacca Thu 04-Aug-22 18:43:34

She refused to accept advice from her experienced legal team that she couldn’t win the case and would come out with her reputation damaged

Nope Iam64, she denied that too during the interview!

Callistemon21 Thu 04-Aug-22 16:29:41

Rosina

Two newspapers at the newsagents today had RV on the front page; she has been on TV stating that the verdict was wrong - unsurprisingly . I read there might well be a film made about this affair - good grief! This lady must have some neck - but then she probably needs paid interviews etc. to fund the eye watering amount she is going to have to fund for the lost case.

Good grief, the world's gone mad, or the newspapers have.

Russia has invaded Ukraine, China threatens Taiwan, droughts are causing famine, we are practically leaderless with a choice between the devil and the deep blue sea and Rebekah Wotsername is on the front pages!

Iam64 Thu 04-Aug-22 16:00:05

RV’s refused to accept CR’s offers to settle out of Court. She refused to accept advice from her experienced legal team that she couldn’t win the case and would come out with her reputation damaged
She reminds me of those people convicted of awful crimes, on overwhelming evidence, who continue to insist they’re innocent.
Some people believe the story they tell

Oh Monica, don’t you think the RF have enough to worry about?

Priceless! ?

Jan Moir has written an excoriating review of RV's interview, in the DM today. By the time I have finished reading it, I almost felt sorry for the girl.

The comparison that immediately rose to my mind was with Prince Andrew, each dug a big hole and has kept digging no maatter what anyone said. When physically stopped they have then gone to great lengths to resume digging. Both think they are putting their side of the discussion across successfully and people are on their side.

Surely they are made for each other.

Smileless2012 Thu 04-Aug-22 13:51:27

Yes I feel sorry for the children too Chewbacca.
