It sounds worrying, doesn’t it?

What do you mean, please, Louisa?

London Bridge is the code name for HM’s funeral

I think she has gone sad

That would mean they're lying to us.
Surely they (the media) wouldn't do that?shock

Not lying, just saying they are awaiting a further announcement from the palace ( even though they know full well what the announcement will be)

MawtheMerrier Thu 08-Sept-22 16:08:44

I wonder if “under medical supervision” might mean sedated or even an induced coma or on life support? Sounds a bit dramatic, but if things took a turn for the worse overnight, it is possible.
“Comfortable and resting” certainly sounds like being under sedation .
I do hate the “morbid fascination” but I cannot quite leave the TV alone so I am as guilty as the media.
I suspect Huw Edwards is wearing a very dark navy tie rather than black , to be prepared - wasn’t it a Dimbleby who got into hot water for wearing a burgundy tie when the Queen Mum died?

The PM’s of Australia, Canada etc will be informed by the
Palace not the BBC.

And rightly so

Grayling Thu 08-Sept-22 16:05:00

That's the remaining close family just arrived at Aberdeen. It is thought that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are making their own arrangements and will arrive later.

I’m extremely sad. To many service and ex-service people, she was The Boss, and she never stopped being The Boss, even when you retired. She was a constant and an inspiration for all the people. That she had a good long life is a blessing, and something that, sadly, her father didn’t have.

FannyCornforth Thu 08-Sept-22 16:00:26

Derbyshirelass, quite so. It’s so difficult to navigate isn’t it.
Hugh Edwards will have had ‘training’ on this

I feel that with all the royals heading to Balmoral, she is probably still alive. Maybe she has had a stroke. ( Sorry if this has been said many times, only just looked on here).

I think they're doing a good job....they are being very respectful.

They have to stay on air, it is the BBCS remit at such times.

Hugh Edwards has the gravitas and experience to be the anchorman. It's not an easy job but I think he's doing well.

BlueBelle Thu 08-Sept-22 15:55:14

Why would she already be dead? what would be the point in lying about it whether it happened yesterday today or tomorrow I don’t see the point pretending she’s still alive if she’s already gone I don’t get it
Surely there all rushing to see her now and say goodbye to her

sharon103 Thu 08-Sept-22 15:55:07

Feeling very sad.

Stormystar Thu 08-Sept-22 15:48:45

I'm already feeling sad and bereft our Queen has just always been there, background and foreground. She truly is simply remarkable and inspirational, exhibiting so many honest and good values. I'm so very thankful for her lifetime of service, the like of which I don't think we shall ever see again.

icanhandthemback Thu 08-Sept-22 15:46:43

They are putting out a lot of barriers outside Buckingham Palace. It really doesn't look good. QE has been an absolute boon to the UK.
I have a photo of my Nan on the day she died. She looked so alive and well, it seems hard to believe that she was dead a few hours later. However, when I look at that photo, I rejoice that she looked happy and well. I hope that we can look on the final photo (if it is) with Liz Truss with the same focus.

I don't either. Back off, nanoo. This is not the time for aggressive remarks.

I am watching closely here in the US. The Queen, the people in the UK and the Commonweath, are all in my prayers.

What time is it where you are imaround?
