Jacob Rees Mogg has been saying he'd be delighted to have fracking in his back garden, especially as he'd be paid royalties. He describes allowing fracking in your garden as as 'a public service'.
His neighbours don't agree with him, understandable really as fracking in Mogg's back garden would be a risk to the next door lake which provides most of Bristol's drinking water and would also potentially impact on the geology that provides the famous spring of hot water in Bath.
He dismissed criticism of fracking on Monday, saying: “So who doesn’t like it? The socialists and Caroline Lucas. Well that makes my heart bleed.”
Hopefully, that means that Rees-Mogg's political career is over after the next election. Labour and the LibDems currently split the opposition in his constituency, so they need to get some tactical voting pact sorted.
