I have no problem with her size, smoking or drinking (I know many overweight healthcare professionals who smoke and drink)

I am more concerned about her attitude to handing out prescription drugs and her lack of knowledge concerning U.K. laws.

She's Liz Truss's best friend and agrees with her on everything.

That's the only qualification required to be Deputy PM and anything else she wants to be.

She also said she didn’t know about the law forbidding smoking in a car with children.

Her size and that she's a smoker isn't really the issue - as we know to our cost, how many ministers have relevant qualifications for their brief?

The libertarian sh*te that she espouses is the problem - a government should help and advise in public health matters as with AIDS, seat belts, Covid etc.

It's not a 'nanny-state' to promote healthy living.

It does seem like a very odd choice. Surely she could have been given a more appropriate post ?

It would be hard to make it up, wouldn't it?

She has also admitted sharing prescription medicines with friends, for which she should have lost her job immediately.

I find it really worrying this person is now health minister.
I do think that most people know that obesity and smoking are not good for their health, but her libertarian stance on these matters are not the message she should be putting out.
She believes that parents shouldn’t be told not to smoke with children in their cars-I believe the children need protection from these attitudes.
Her own life choices are not my issue, just the messages she is issuing as health secretary.
