What is it, then, varian?

On Radio 4's "Political Thinking" ex brexit minister David Frost confirmed what I have long thought - that the Conservative Party is not the Brexit Party.

Excellent, varian, thanks for posting the link.

MerylStreep

It’s not looking too healthy in the eu, either, but our press and media outlets don’t tell you this.

At least they have functioning governments

I watched it. I think it's interesting even though nothing is new.

What is a SM site Dickens (it made me think it was going to be a mildly risqué joke about punishing ourselves)?

SM = Social Media grin

(can be almost as bad as what you're thinking of...)

SM = Social Media (not Sado-Masochism grin)

A nationwide day of protest and strikes in France. All is not well in the EU. I voted to remain in case anyone thinks I'm a brexiteer. Important to note that it's not just GB struggling these days. Putin must be happy. ?

dickens these Brexit loud mouths are very much in the minority though, and will continue to dwindle as the economy gets worse and worse.

Starmer is no fool and has no intention of drawing a huge target on his back by talking about Brexit, and giving the far right gift but it is obvious that if labour are voted into power, they are inheriting a situation, worse than any government has ever inherited, and one if the easiest ways of boosting the economy will be to join the single market and the customs union.

Only a lunatic fringe believe Brexit is a good thing. Rees-Mogg came up with no real Brexit Opportunities when he was Minister for the same. Who will be the next PM? We had Cameron, May, Johnson and now Truss. How about Larry the Cat. He couldn't do much worse but he probably isn't a Tory having been earwigging in No. 10 for so long.

I think this thread will go awfully quiet.

I've just come off a SM site where the Brexit effect was being discussed, in quite sober and rational terms without any histrionics when there was a deluge of Brexit supporters (some shouting in CAPS) that we should "move on or move out", "get over it", "ge behind the country" and various other bits of advice. There was no attempt at any rational argument, just personal attacks against "sore loser Remoaners".

According to some of these posters, the ousting of Liz Truss is a 'Remoaner' plot to get us back into the EU and that her policy failures - her trashing of the economy - is all the fault of those who wouldn't accept the 'will of the people' over Brexit. So now you know - the economy is in the state it's in because of - Remainers!

It was at this point that I realised the sun was shining, the day looks promising, and my garden needs attention before the colder, darker days of winter set in.

Hope the sun is shining in your part of the country - wherever you are and you can make the most of it!

This film is 28 minutes long but well worth watching for anyone interested in learning the truth about the effect of brexit.

I don’t need to watch the film I can see it happening all around me…

You have mentioned the elephant in the room. We mustn’t say much about it as it was a democratic decision made by the “majority” of the public. So well done Johnson and the Daily Mail for encouraging so many to vote to leave. The former as a known self seeking lier and a paper which Wikipedia refuse to classify as a news paper due to its content only containing 30% of the truth.
