Petition asking for an immediate general election

This petition is on the parliamentary petition site, to which, sorry, I am incapable of working out how to give a link (I'm sure one of you technically accomplished people could do so). Anyway, if anyone else didn't know about it and would like to sign it, it might make you feel better, even if it is unlikely to achieve anything!

What I meant was I agree about liberal leaning conservatives though not about the GE.

Do wish there was an edit button on here that allowed you to edit for a short while after posting.

Though I also agree we need a general election but probably for different reasons to others on here.

We don't need a general election. What we need is for the present government to get its act together and remember what the word 'Conservative' means. Too many of them have joined the wrong party...they should have joined the Liberals.

Quite agree.

Maybe if PM’s didn’t automatically get huge yearly payments when they leave office or have the right to bribe people with peerages they wouldn’t fight like rabid hyena’s over the right to become PM ? Maybe if their sole reward was to be able to make the country a better place it would sort out the wheat from the chaff?

It feels like musical chairs for PMs. As soon as there is an empty seat some other incompetent jumps into it.

Bring on a General Election.

I heard an older politician saying that the people who are currently in the Conservatives party are all 'low level'.

He said in the past people who went into politics were law abiding and of a higher calibre... with morals, integrity and a steady intelligent approach, whether you agreed with their politics wasn't the issue.

I agree with this. There is NO ONE currently good enough to take up office in the Conservatives... in fact they are a crowd of power hungry people with nothing to offer.

I think a general election is the only option.

We might not want an election but we do need one. As a country we need stability and integrity at the top of government. The Tories have been able to provide either for a long time. They owe it to the country.

I know! It’s the utter, bloody entitlement of it all! angry

There is bugger all evidence to show that they should be anywhere near high office.
They’ve totally run out of ideas, personnel and steam.

They disgust me.

Chocolatelovinggran Sat 22-Oct-22 11:39:40

They have had twelve years to sort themselves out. I think that they are all a little overtired and need an early night - aka 12 years not in government.

Totally agree with you Curtaintwitcher.

They can sort themselves out in opposition. Why should we have to put up with their histrionics when the country is deep in crisis?

MaizieD Sat 22-Oct-22 10:55:31

I signed it weeks ago.

I think there are a few more similar ones floating around...

Do we know who started this petition? I signed one yesterday but it didn't look like this. They can easily be discredited.
