BBC News - Buckingham Palace aide resigns over remarks to black charity boss
www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-63810468

Well at least the Palace took this incident seriously and didn't fob off Ms Fulani's complaint.

Lady Hussey reminds me of my paternal grandmother, who showed disdain for anybody she considered beneath her. I really disliked her, even as a child, and used to dread the annual visit, when I knew I would be made to hug and kiss her. No hug would ever heal anything. I would far rather I had never been made to engage with her.

The best think now would be for the apologists for racism to shut up and stop coming up with their ridiculous smears. I'm sure the Palace has made note and will be more careful in future whom it chooses to represent it.

I agree Callistemon21 that there are many important issues and the whole purpose of this event is being overlooked because of a misunderstood conversation. I've never heard so much nonsense here in my life. The Queen was Head of the Commonwealth and has hosted many thousands of people from many different ethnicities at the Palace. She has embraced every nationality. It is an absolute disgrace that one conversation in a very noisy crowded room should claim to provide evidence of 'racism at the Palace'.
There are such appalling, tragic examples of real victims suffering racism all over the world, and yet it seems some people are just looking to be offended and make trouble, when a simple apology and hug would suffice.
All these nonsense incidents will just make people wary of each other and less likely to engage. Is that what you want, volver and GagaJo?

'Misunderstood'.

Let's be clear, when people are racist, those they treat badly are already wary.

I don't want to hug a racist and I'm white. If being forgiving and pretending it wasn't an issue worked, Black people wouldn't die at the hands of the police.

Are you implying there’s something wrong about her tweets?

Mollygo Sat 03-Dec-22 23:40:39

I read her tweets, not tweets about her.

No. If you’re going to believe Twitter get it straight from the horse’s mouth. MsFulani is prolific.

Posts about Ms Fulani with numerous smears and ludicrous conspiracy theories are also prolific.

Some people must be desperate!

GagaJo Sat 03-Dec-22 23:02:28

Makes a change to getting it from the horses ar*e on here.

I'm just tickled by being told I won't be argued with, by people who believe that every Twitter rumour is gospel 😂😂

I'm telling you now, Olivia Colman is a fifth columnist who only appeared in the Crown to divert suspicion. I will not be argued with regarding this assertion.

😉

So how exactly did they programme Lady Hussey to say what she did?

I'm convinced she was implanted with 5G chips grin.

Race bait. Got lucky with Lady Susan.

Wow! I've heard it all now!

Nah bruv, it was the Hackney Marshes aliens I'm telling ya!

Misan Harriman has also photographed Princess Beatrice, Olivia Colman, Tom Cruise and a cover for "Vogue". I wonder if they're all involved in this grand conspiracy.

This whole affair has become about as ludicrous as Trump injecting himself with bleach (or whatever it was).

Zoejory Volver like a referee is always right even when she’s wrong and nothing will convince her otherwise, so the best is just to agree to differ. It reminds me of my grandmother tbh who was impossible to argue with - if she swore white was black it was or vice versa. Gosh are we allowed to use that phrase these days?

volver Sat 03-Dec-22 20:43:40

Zoejory

I knew about the event. It was reported that it was due to take place in most of the press.

You carry on talking about racism in the Palace, volver. I prefer to listen to mixed race friends and relatives and how weary they are of this pathological altruism. You're not doing it in their name. Of course racism exists. But I do believe that you're acting this way due to your attitude toward the RF. Which you're perfectly entitled to have. But it sullies your comments somewhat.

pathological altruism? OK, if you say so.

If you think I like to call out people in this country who behave in a racist manner because I'm not a Royalist, on you go. Fill your boots.

She looks quite happy here

Er..and that photo proves what in this context?

Galaxy Sat 03-Dec-22 20:41:58

I was aware of it Callistemon. I am not a royalist but was aware of it because of my interest in campaigns against violence against women. Thanks for continuing to highlight it.

Yes I missed it. I tend to miss out on the Royal stuff.

Maybe you could start a thread to discuss this important event, Callistemon?

Why?
You and the others will just change the rhetoric anyway.

Quite honestly Callistemon, if you phrase it appropriately, I would imagine that most people won't even make the connection.

volver Sat 03-Dec-22 20:40:31

Oh, I googled it. What a shame it was overshadowed by the racist actions of a senior member of the household.

Avelin3, there are a few posters on here with their own agenda, re race, transgender and the very worst Tories, everything gets twisted because they do everything they can to rubbish uk, best not to answer really because you can’t have a civilised discussion. Truth will out.
