I hope the nurses here never go on strike. More teachers here from time to time, can’t remember the nurses ever going out.

They have been driven to their first strike ever, by a corrupt inept government that is hoping that the voter can be turned against the nurses and side with the government.

The nurses should not be on strike, of course not, but in talks with the government over their pay.

Talks which the government is refusing to have.

It is a disgrace.

And we know nothing about the time it took staff to come out. We do know hospitals are under staffed all the time and that will be worse with the strike action.
I fully support the nurses. They’ve been driven into this strike action.

I see this as a non story.
Anyone would have helped him, and of course some nurses rushed to help him.

Spend a month on the wards Claudiaclaws which, as a nurse, I did for years then tell me nurses don’t deserve a pay rise. Governments have ignored the plight of nurses for years thinking they had us in a corner, so sure of the fact we would never strike when all around were striking for a higher pay.
I am backing this first strike 100%

This is a non story. A trained nurse will always go to the aid of someone taken ill, it’s instinctive.

It's the only avenue left to them to try to claw back better pay and conditions from a government that is bleeding the country dry.

Lots of ours emigrate to Australia because the pay is better over there.

I do know one or two who came here from Australia so it's not entirely a one-way exodus.

No one is disputing that fact.
Not too sure about the irrelevancy of a being a nurse on the scene, being medically trained, a nurse may pick up on something a lay person wouldn’t.
