Not necessarily, a back-hander to a book seller or similar?
I presumed it was just good old fashioned journalism, Casdon sniffing stuff out, contacts etc

I don’t think so, but I could be wrong. I’d bet there’s some investigation going on now, as it’s taken the shine off the big release.

I doubt that there is any home with siblings that have not at sometime had an altercation of sorts.

FannyCornforth Thu 05-Jan-23 08:03:02

Casdon, it was just my first reaction, but I now think that you’re probably right.
The Today program are using the very word ‘leaked’ in their top story.

Who believes anything he says! Poor Charles, to say that to his sons, my heart goes out to him as the mother of an estranged daughter. A pity about the necklace and dog bowl, it must have been hellishly traumatic.

Allsorts Thu 05-Jan-23 08:10:00

Ive just read the extract mentioned and am truly dusgusted how low Harry has sunk, his version, no witness just that he told Megan. Surely this is libellous. He and M need to shut up failing that ignored. Wish our newspapers wouldn't keep this going, H won't rest until he breaks the monarchy.

Alioop Thu 05-Jan-23 08:12:35

This could be from a TV show, maybe the actress has now become a script writer. A necklace, a broken dogs bowl, what on earth is he going to get out of of all this. Oh yeah, money. Why didn't it become a cat fight, that's what normally happens.

FannyCornforth Thu 05-Jan-23 08:14:14

I’m sure that it isn’t libellous as Harry, his ghost writer JR Moehringer (who is a brilliant writer) and publishers Random House will have the very best in legal advice

tickingbird Thu 05-Jan-23 08:22:29

Shock! Horror! Brothers fighting!

If that’s all he can come up with what a waste of paper. As for Meghan being rude and abrasive I think we already know that too.

Oreo. Love it 😂😂

Forsythia Thu 05-Jan-23 08:25:08

I have read elsewhere that the journalist in New York is followed on twitter by one James Holt - Head of Archwell. Coincidence? Surely.

lemsip Thu 05-Jan-23 08:25:50

Casdon

Somebody is going to be in big trouble for sending this information to one media outlet before all the others, surely? I thought it was being stage managed for one big splash across all media.

read the comments then you would find that The Guardian obtained a copy of the book!

lemsip Thu 05-Jan-23 08:27:50

I think william should buy him a new necklace and dog bowl,

ha ha

vegansrock Thu 05-Jan-23 08:30:23

Funny how people are so invested in the lives of those they don’t know.

Forsythia Thu 05-Jan-23 08:31:18

And yet, here you are adding your comment.

You mean The Guardian, the BBC, most media outlets?

Iam64 Thu 05-Jan-23 08:35:26

I’m relieved to see FannyC feels sympathy for all of them. No surprises but so do I. As FannyC also points out, legal advice will have been given before these allegations were published.
What a sad state of affairs for all involved.

FannyCornforth Thu 05-Jan-23 08:36:17

I must be old fashioned, or soft, or something as I don’t find two previously incredibly close brothers physically fighting funny at all.
William telling his brother to hit him back and Harry refusing.
I once heard two adult brothers fighting next door to me, and it left me shaking and wondering if I should call the police.
It was going on for a long while though

Forsythia Thu 05-Jan-23 08:37:36

It’s only his word that it happened. We only ever hear his side of the story. No witnesses.

I think one of the more compelling reasons for not having a royal family is what happens to the people within it. I am afraid my only reaction to it is that of watching an episode of Eastenders. I dont feel particularly guilty about this as if it were up to me I wouldnt have the situation in the first place.

What's funnier is you commenting on the thread. ha ha

Sparklefizz Thu 05-Jan-23 08:45:54

legal advice will have been given before these allegations were published.

Really?? When so many other comments by M&H have been proven to be false, and even the Archbishop of Canterbury had to step up and explain that their claim didn't happen.

FannyCornforth Thu 05-Jan-23 08:49:07

Sparklefizz, yes, to Moehringer and the publishers, especially because there have been past discrepancies.
The lawyers will have pored over every syllable

tickingbird Thu 05-Jan-23 08:50:38

If legal advice is given before books are published it follows everything in them must be true surely? Or could it be that taking every unfounded allegation and downright lie to court is the last resort? Going down the legal route is a very time consuming and costly business for anyone.

I think William probably did hit Harry in sheer frustration at his blind refusal to see the light regarding Meghan’s character.

He knows William won’t take it to court anyway - he can’t. Harry has free rein to spout whatever he wants and get paid for it. Pretty low in my opinion,

tickingbird Thu 05-Jan-23 08:52:08

The lawyers will have pored over every syllable

Really? How would the lawyers know the truth? Follows all the stuff written about Meghan is true then doesn’t it?

eazybee Thu 05-Jan-23 08:56:16

But we do know them, and far too much about them, thanks to H & M and their relentless pursuit of publicity. Just like his mother.
Lead story on the BBC news, 7am, and countless updates.

Just pleased it will overshadow Tom Bradby, chief sycophant, and his much publicised interview with H sometime soon.
