Some may feel differently but should not belittle the beliefs of others.

Well I think most people would think of someone who was is looking after his wife who is suffering with dementia (especial when you a lot of successful men trade their wives in for younger models), who adopts two orphaned children and tries to speak up against a sex offenders has some decency.

What do you think makes some someone decent?

You're right. The monarchy has survived worse. I remember the public turning on them once Diana died and So do Fayed's dad accused them of murder.

My, this thread has veered off course a bit. What intrigues me is why people think the royal family should be any different than anyone else. They’re born into a job that for the senior royals can be very hard work, have codes of behaviour they’re required to adhere to (more so since the explosion of 24/7 media) but get to enjoy a bit of comfort and moderate wealth in return. I wouldn’t like their life, not in any way.
Harry is like any son that’s married a wife that doesn’t see eye to eye with the family. Goodness, enough is posted on GN about upset and estrangement.
Yes, I do read the reports, but at the end of the day, the monarchy will prevail as the job they do has a £ value to this country.

He may well be, but he was spot on when it came to Savile. There are excerpts from an interview he gave to the BBC back in 1978, but the part where he spoke out about Savile was never aired at the time (wonder why?) He has since spoken about it on several occasions.

What has that got to do with anything? So we only accept accusations of sexual abuse off people we like.

I don't know John Lydon but I do know he was to bring this up. I also know that he has been devoted to his wife for 40 off year. When her daughter from a previous relationship died, he helped her adopt her grandchildren and they think of him as a dad and he's now nursing his wife through dementia.

Do you really think Charles had advisers who were paid to pick up gossip from the Sex Pistols? Rather different social circles I think.

I also mentioned the BBC and yes I'd expect Royal advisors to talk to the BBC as there's a royal correspondent.
And really you think of allegations of sexual abuse as gossip.

I don’t know what great disservice you think Charles has done and can only assume you’re referring to his admission of adultery with the woman who is now his wife. He isn’t some serial philanderer and he has been happily married for many years to the person he should have married in the first place. Would you deny them their happiness? Should he have taken a vow of chastity, wear a hair shirt and practise self-flagellation?

You may get very worked up about people trafficking and paedophilia but implying anyone’s involvement in or support of such activities without firm evidence could land you in serious and very expensive trouble, believe me.

But his mummy (our Queen) paid out a lot of money to keep him out of court. Another way to hush things up.

I'm perfectly fine with Charles marrying Camilla and being happy but actions have consequences and it's clearly affected Harry who'd already been through his parents messy and public divorce and his mother's tragic and public death before bed but his teens.

I repeat. John Lydon tried to talk about Saville in the late 70s. It was released after Saville's death so if he knew about it, it doesn't take much of guess that quite a few people knew. The BBC have been criticised for protecting him. It wasn't that much of a secret. Now Charles might not have known the rumours but he has all these advisors, surely they would know. If not they were not very good.
