Astonishing that he has announced this.
He has now put his wife, children and himself at serious risk not to mention all the other implications.

He is a silly immature and dangerous man.

I didn’t realise Pen Farthing had gone back to Afghanistan.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 06-Jan-23 16:56:29

This is just one of many on Twitter

(Pen Farthing is the animal charity founder)

What a stupid comment by Daily Mirror

It wasn't the Daily Mirror. It was the Taliban. 🤦🏼

Remember when Harry visited the Queen and said he wanted to be sure she had the "right" people round her? Perhaps he should have a look at the people around him, he seems to have been very badly advised lately. Surely someone could have stepped up and said "Perhaps don't called actual human beings chess pieces even if they are the enemy"

seadragon Fri 06-Jan-23 16:18:59

In response to the prince's controversial claims, Taliban warlord Anas Haqqani tweeted: "Mr Harry! The ones you killed were not chess pieces, they were humans; they had families who were waiting for their return.

"Among the killers of Afghans, not many have your decency to reveal their conscience and confess to their war crimes." Daily Mirror

Caleo I beg to differ. I think it would make the Taliban a lot more popular to their followers.

Yes actually.I found her quiet dignity escorting her mother's body from Scotland very moving.I bet the regiments under her patronage are counting their blessings. I also wonder what Harry's Invictus team make of his comments.

OnwardandUpward Fri 06-Jan-23 15:30:12

Yes, Princess Anne can teach him a lesson or two. I doubt if she'd want to though. She's grieving for her Mother and is no doubt livid as well as heartbroken.

merlotgran Fri 06-Jan-23 15:21:26

I wonder who Meghan will blame when it’s spelled out to her that there is now be a credible risk to her and her children?

Suing the Home office will no longer be worth a hill of beans.

Washerwoman Fri 06-Jan-23 15:20:13

Not just the Taliban but as likely to be some deranged extremist who either feels angry on Harry's behalf and is a risk to William, Kate and the children and the other senior royals.Or the alternative sees Harry as the enemy. With social media and him drip feeding and constantly seething with resentment publicly and feeding the tabloids even more he has escalated this to ridiculous proportions. Thus increasing security risk all round.
Pop him in a room with Princess Anne for an hour or two I say.Now that would be scary I reckon !

Anniebach Fri 06-Jan-23 14:52:18

Would he take advice ? Unless from his wife

According to BBC lunchtime news The Taliban have responded, those that PH killed were not pieces on a chessboard, but people with families waiting for them to come home

Along with someone from the security service saying that PH has now created a real and present danger to himself, his immediate family along with the entire RF.

I do not think it was his intention, but I do not think he had thought these comments through.

I think you are absolutely right GG, in a way I think his ghost writer/publishers/advisers on "Spare", were wrong to allow Harry to be so candid about his time in army and particularly in relation to the very sensitive matter of 25 killings. . They ought to have had the foresight to see a bigger picture, even if Harry can't, although he was very focused and no doubt still is on security. I think the publication of such details are irresponsible all round and potentially dangerous as to where it could lead all in the pursuit of getting top dollar from sales of the book. We only have to cast our minds back to Charlie Hebdo to remember what that triggered.

Sparkelfizz, I don’t read his book and didn’t know about the frostbite, gripping though it is, doesn’t the bit affected drop off? That’s his necklaces dogs bowl and now frost bitten appendage.

I refuse to read the book but frankly no one needs to, because all these excerpts are on the radio, online and in the papers.

kjmpde Fri 06-Jan-23 14:34:15

He should acknowledge his service but to discuss killing is providing himself and his family as a target. The poor man obviously has issues

He really does have something to worry about now and it’s not his family. He is a security risk.

Sparklefizz Fri 06-Jan-23 13:39:07

It would seem he doesn't think anything through even though he has access to any type of adviser he would wish to employ.

Did the public need to know that he had some frostbite on the end of his penis? Talk about over-sharing !!

I have just heard an item on Jeremy Vine on Radio 2 with various Army personnel giving their opinions on Harry's admission, and saying that it demeans all serving personnel as well as obviously making himself a target. He has given the Taliban a bonus.

He has used the word "accountable" and asks for an apology from his family but seems completely blind to his own lack of accountability and hypocrisy.

What is the saying? Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.

Harry has spoken and removed all doubt.

What a dreadful situation this has developed into; it just gets worse.

Harry needs help, he is mentally unstable.

I appreciate all of you with service men/women in your family, thank you to them and god bless them.

OnwardandUpward Fri 06-Jan-23 13:02:19

Insanity is a terrible thing. Someone should save him from himself. But who?

Blondiescot Fri 06-Jan-23 13:01:17

Caleo

Why would Taliban go to all the danger and expense of killing Harry? It's not as if they would make their cause richer , more powerful, or more popular by so doing.

You obviously don't know much about them, then...

bevisp1 Fri 06-Jan-23 12:57:23

He needs to be careful, he could be a wanted man, by the Taliban. Harry is such a silly, stupid and idiotic nasty fool, all along I’ve been saying with each and every thing he’s been saying, that surely he’s got to stop, if this incident doesn’t stop him then I don’t know what will. All he is doing is bringing up nonsense about his past, he’s not moving forward at all. Someone please shut this man up…

Caleo Fri 06-Jan-23 12:56:00

There are some poorly informed and sentimental members of the public who think that soldiers are not employed to kill .
