Prince Harry has sensationally accused Camilla of plotting to marry Charles, take the Crown and of leaking stories to the press in his bombshell memoir, MailOnline can reveal today.

In an extraordinary passage in his explosive autobiography, titled Spare, the Duke of Sussex writes: 'Shortly after our private meetings with her, she began to develop her long-term strategy, a campaign directed at marriage and with time, the Crown (with the blessing of our father, we supposed).

'News stories started appearing in all the newspapers about her conversations with Willy, stories which recounted lots of small details, none of which came from my brother, of course.'

Charles did keep s mistress throughout the marriage, says who ? The press

I must say I am a lot more perturbed by this massive wallowing in the Royals misery by so many people, than the fact themselves. It is distasteful and quite sickening, and hugely hypocritical too.

Do you include Harry in that?

He wants people to read his book, watch his Netflix series, watch their interviews one after another as he wallows in his misery.

Perhaps the best thing might might be to ignore both him and Meghan and then the rest of the slimmed-down Royal Family could get on with doing the work we ask of them.

It was Edward V11th who had multiple mistresses that Queen Alexandra tolerated, not Edward V111th.

'Charles did not keep a mistress throughout the marriage.' Says who? Charles?

Well said Glorianny

Who saw the cuff links? The press must have photographs

Glorianny Mon 09-Jan-23 09:37:44

Charles says he didn't resume the affair but on his honeymoon he wore cufflinks given to him by Camilla as a wedding gift, Two Cs interlinked. Isn't there such a thing as adultery in the mind? He certainly wasn't thinking of Diana then was he?

Yes she had met Charles when he was shooting when she was only about 15. What 15 year old would not have fantasized about the young prince? I'm sure she was someone he kept on a list of possible brides, too. They probably had to be young and innocent enough not to suspect they weren't the only one.

Diana would have known of the life style was different, she lived in Sandringham estate, Andrew and Edward were childhood friends. She holidayed with the royals at Balmoral,
Charles visited Althorp for shoots.

Diana knew all about the Royal lifestyle that wasn’t the problem, it was Charles keeping a mistress throughout the marriage in the same way that Edward V111 did. Queen Alexandra tolerated it, Diana could not, probably she should have left sooner but with young children you do what you think is best for them.

Sarah Spencer - compromising photographs, blackmail, sworn to secrecy !

A sister dates a chap who is having an affair, she introduces her younger sister to the chap and remains silent whilst her sister
becomes engaged to the chap.

Charles may have sworn her to secrecy?

Sarah's remarks that she would not marry KC if he were the king or the dustman were the end to him as he was obviously thinking she might be the one. I think he then asked for Diana's number having previously met her. I'm sure Sarah wasn't keen on him being with Diana if she already knew the truth, but what could she do if she had been sworn to secrecy or blackmailed in some way, for example if he had compromising photos of her?

Most older sisters are protective of their younger sisters. Not all younger sister's listen though, so maybe Diana fell for the idea of love, not knowing from experience what real love was. Totally understandable at that age- and I imagine Charles was quite smooth and persuasive, wanting heirs.

what makes you think sarah remained silent? Diana may not have believed it or thought it would be different for her....siblings are like that!..

When she expressed doubts the night before the wedding, didn't her sisters tell her she had to go ahead with it as her face was on all the tea towels?!

It was reported that both grandmothers thought Diana would be the perfect bride for Charles and ensured it came to pass and this was apparently portrayed in The Crown.

However, according to Andrew Morton, Lady Fermoy told Diana the royal life would not “suit” her.

^She reportedly said: “Darling, you must understand that their sense of humour and their lifestyle are different, and I don’t think it will suit you.^”

^Apologies for digressing from the main topic but ballet dancers are something that i take a great interest in.^
Ditto. Have you seen the The White Crow?

Yes I have and enjoyed it. A school friend was a great fan of Nureyev and saw him when he first went to the Royal Ballet. I only saw him when he brought a small company to London performing Ballet Russes pieces. He wasn't so athletic but he remained, to my mind until recently, the best character dancer.

Anniebach Sun 08-Jan-23 21:56:42

Yes, and parents, granny, friends all remained silent , many surely believe this

Why would anyone be surprised that people kept this affair ‘secret ‘

Indeed.

Of course people attempt secrecy for affairs.

But a sister not tell her sister ?

lemsip Sun 08-Jan-23 20:36:11

Before becoming Charles’ wife, Camilla spent years as his partner. And long before the couple shared any of that with the public,
they carried on an off-again, on-again love affair that overlapped with their previous marriages to Princess Diana and Andrew Parker Bowles.

M0nica Sun 08-Jan-23 20:21:31

Well, the world knew very fast after the affair was revealed during the breakdown and rumours and innuendos had been flying around before that.

I am pretty sure everyone one knew, but like most families they all decided it was a private matter and they had no right to interfere - and quite right too.

If any of those mentioned above had come on incognoto onto GN and asked advice we would have told them in no uncertain terms that it was nothing to do with them and to keep stummand ignore it.

One of C&C’s safe houses was next door to a friend of mine. Everyone knew but no one said anything.
