The church did not refuse to marry them ,

The Queen Consort has said she does not want duchesses. Hang on, am I reading something into that?
Thanks for the quote Maw.

Splendid idea.

How nice. I think it's a lovely idea

To be honest I don't really care who she has there - it's a load of nonsense for her and Charles to be 'anointed with holy oil' whatever that is, in a church that refused to marry them!

I have pretty much zero interest in the forthcoming Coronation. I find that since QEII and the DoE died I’m not fussed what these up and coming Royals are up to. I think I’m disillusioned with most of them and am beginning to question their relevance to be honest.

What a lovely idea.

It is understood that Camilla has asked her grandchildren to hold the canopy over her as she is anointed with holy oil during the most sacred part of the ceremony. Duchesses have previously performed the role
A royal source said: “The Queen Consort has said she does not want duchesses. She would like it to be her grandchildren.”
In another break with tradition, a significant role for George, nine, is being discussed. The King and Queen are due to meet the Prince and Princess of Wales soon to talk about possible options.

Well they're her family aren't they? Why not.

Sounds nice, good for her.

Camilla has reportedly indicated she wants her five grandchildren (three are pictured left); Lola and Eliza, both 15, Freddy, 13, and twins Louis and Gus, also 13, to hold the canopy over her as she is anointed with holy oil on May 6.
