best President the US has ever had
Err, no I don’t think so. He’s possibly the worst though.
Cataract surgery including an i stent fitting.
“We are killing like we haven’t killed since 1967”
Just watching the coronation- like show that is Donald Trump landing in his magic flying machine to face charges in New York. All the prayers, all the wringing of hands which I believe is extremely dangerous to all of us because he is standing to be a future leader of the ‘free’ haha world. What is wrong with these people ? How can they think that a man with his history can be some sort of latter day messiah? We laugh but he poses a real threat to all of us in the future if he gets away with it.

De Santis is keeping his powder dry he doesn’t want to go head to head with Trump, if Trump drops out I would expect him to win the Republican nomination. Biden is not a great president and Harris isn’t particularly popular, DeSantis I think is a bigger threat to him than Trump.
In the interests of balance we also have cults in the UK, mostly spread from the US but there are still old folk in the East End of London who idolised the Krays!
I've just read about the Church of the Latter Day Saints (Mormon) man who shot his wife, his mother in law and his five children before killing himself. He even posted his own obituary where he boasted he excelled in everything he ever did. Organised Religion is insanity.
Can't for the life of me understand why he has so many female supporters. I have met some lovely Americans, but Trump supporters just make me shake my head in despair. But then i find the Congressman who sent a Christmas card of his wife and kids toting guns totally unfathomable. Christmas is all about peace, love and harmony.
We have to be thankful he wasn’t president when Putin invaded Ukraine. I shudder tothink what kind of response he would have led - bearing in mind he asked if a hurricane could be nuked[😳]
Let’s face it the USA is in one big mess, corrupt political processes, unrest among the citizenry, inept and aging leaders etc etc. And in another country (Russia) EXACTLY the same but with a cowed and impotent populace, Look what’s happening in the UK, in France and other countries too. The world as we knew it is changing. Power structures are failing and morphing into completely different protocols which vastly affect our societies. Due to the interconnectivity of geopolitics there is not a nation on earth that will not be affected. I think it is similar to the post WW1 era when empires fell. Scary.
I can't think of any more obnoxious than Trump (apart from Putin). He talks like he is a child telling his teachers he it wasn't his fault! It beats me, how in a country the size of the USA they could only find two old men to govern the country! Though Biden seems to do better than I expected. At least Trump loves himself so much he3 is not going to miss the lov e I have for others, but not him!!
@;nanna8, my thoughts exactly on Joe Biden. In a country of 330 million people, surely there must be two candidates of integrity who are under sixty and preferably under fifty.
I know an American lady who, despite having lived in the UK for over fifty years, is still very American and extremely pro Trump. She won’t have a word said against him, which must make life difficult for her as l am yet to meet anyone here who supports his policies. I can’t even bear to look at his face, let alone hear him speak. This lady actually said, in complete seriousness, that under the Democrats America was turning communist! As even the Democrats are generally to the right of our Tories, this is some claim.
It is good to hear from some of our American friends here. It must be very difficult for those of you who don’t support Trump to hear the continual news about him. Of course, he is lapping up all the attention. What a shame Barack Obama could not be re-elected. He was a true world statesman and one of the best American presidents for decades. I once answered a question on a different forum about the difference between Obama and Trump by saying that Obama was revered throughout the world while Trump was detested throughout the world.
Trump is immoral and narcissistic. He will stand again. The Christian Right are not like our do gooding C of E congregations, they are more like Jihadis, they do not believe that God requires them to live well or do good things, you only have to “declare for the Lord”, and anyone who doesn’t is expendable. It is truly terrifying. They also believe in the right to bear arms and they are armed. And yes, I know some.

It’s pretty likely Europe would have been left to do their own thing about Ukraine, which is not to far from Biden’s initial response, he had to be persuaded to get involved.

I wish they had someone stronger than Biden to oppose him. It is laughable that a big country full of talented people should have two old, old men in positions of power/ potential power.
What is even more reprehensible is that no country sets a retirement age for its politicians or presidents.
I have lately become more convinced that no-one over the age of 70 should be allowed to become prime-minister or president of any country.
Cardinals of seventy or above may vote at a conclave, but not be elected pope. If the Catholic church has such a rule perhaps countries should adopt it too.
After all Trump and Biden are not the only old men in power or seeking to become so. Netenayu seems to be becoming very right wing and dicatorial in his old age. Kissinger speaking from his retirement about the situation in Ukraine last year, said Zelinsky should capitulate as soon as possible, making me wonder if Kissinger, whom I have hitherto greatly admired has developed some form of senile dementia.
Another relevant point is that no-one convicted of a criminal offence should be allowed to run for any political or judicial office, and we, the public, should refuse to vote for the pathological liars as well.
He cannot be president if convicted, but an indicted person can run for office. And a president cannot be indicted in office. So if Trump gets in again before a conviction, he is safe. And even though he was impeached twice he wasn’t convicted.
GrandetanteJE65 What about the Supreme Court justices? They either retire or die .
I don’t think we need an age limit we need a term limit .
He is a cult figure, so his followers will follow regardless. He said himself that he could go out and shoot someone and it would make no difference to his followers. He is frightening as others have said and it is frightening how easily we humans can be captured in this way. Who was it who said 'The price of freedom is constant vigilance"? Who ever it was, it's true! We have to remain alert about our leaders and not get hooked on people who know how to capture peoples' loyalty in irrational but powerful and dangerous ways.
If you live in the UK - I would think you have more problems at home since you are rapidly becoming a WEF nation. I suggest you get off mainstream media so you can understand the “true” situation - not the propaganda that abides on mainstream media.
I don’t believe there is a clear understanding of Biden’s destruction over the last 24 months nor Trump’s accomplishments during his tenure.
Not living in the UK, I would not comment on your political climate except to note that you are tracking closely to all WEF goals which will result in enslavement if allowed to continue forward.
Good grief.
"I won't comment on the UK but you're all going to sleepwalk into slavery"

Your moniker gives you away.

You do realise that this is a British site with mainly British posters so the comments reflect this. Having said that, it is always good to have comments from people in other parts of the world as it gives us another perspective.
The politics of the USA affect the whole world so it is only right that we should have our opinions. In addition to this, most people in the UK, the rest of Europe and the commonwealth countries tend to be far more informed about issues beyond our own borders. Most people in the USA seem to have very little interest or idea of what goes on in the rest of the world. In my opinion, a Democrat president is generally far better for the rest of the world than a Republican president, in particular when it comes to Donald Trump.
I take it that, with your username, you are a Trump supporter.
Living in the heartland of U.S., I am so heartsick and afraid for our country. The anger and selfishness trickles down to our state and local governments. School districts may soon enforce "gender checks" to ensure the proper sex is playing sports. Women's studies, Black history, and many other liberal arts programs are being eliminated by the Boards of Colleges and Universities. Degrees in Education certification are no longer offered in several midwestern schools as there are no applicants desiring to teach. I never believed that books would be banned in America, but this is also a new reality. Women in politics or who work for the government(our daughter) are being told what to wear. Yesterday my husband and I retreated to a nearby Botanical Garden where the daffodils were at their peak. I calmed our souls by quoting Wordsworth. We were the only two "wandering lonely as a cloud."
Americans frighten me - and I live in Canada. Anyone who thinks that we are anything alike is sadly mistaken. Their policies in women’s rights, flagrantly open racism, gun laws, and mass murders are just a few of the problems I have with them. I don’t like living next to them. They care not for our planet and some day will look north to a country that has cared for its resources. Yes, they scare me.
Completely understandable DonnaB5859
What is WEF?

... well, you just did comment on the supposed political climate. Bigly.
And as pointed out by Musicgirl the political 'reach' of the USA affects the rest of the world so you might have to accept that we have an opinion on it.
So Trump is seen as Jesus the messiah? Look how that ended after his arrest.
