Just watching the coronation- like show that is Donald Trump landing in his magic flying machine to face charges in New York. All the prayers, all the wringing of hands which I believe is extremely dangerous to all of us because he is standing to be a future leader of the ‘free’ haha world. What is wrong with these people ? How can they think that a man with his history can be some sort of latter day messiah? We laugh but he poses a real threat to all of us in the future if he gets away with it.

I think they should find someone other than Biden. I like him but they need someone younger. Please not Trump again.

varian Sun 09-Apr-23 18:38:01

What is wrong with America?

They are ,many intelligent people, many intelligent capable politicians in America, but the present choice seems to be between serial liar and philanderer Trump (who seems to exhibit very low intelligence and a psychopathic narcissistic personality) and De Santos (apparently even more bonkers right wing than Trump) and the octogenarian somewhat suspect Biden or the only other Democrat contender I've heard of so far - Robert Kennedy Junior- a 69 year old anti-vaccine campaigner.

Come on USA - surely you can do better than that!

Katie59 Sun 09-Apr-23 21:14:55

While Biden is still able nobody is going to challenge him, if he stands down there will be plenty of candidates.
Trump is different depending on this court case the leading republicans may well persuade him to stand down but still endorse an other candidate, BUT, don’t expect the replacement to be a moderate.

There is nothing like exaggeration its the predominantly Democrat inner city areas that are the most dangerous places on the planet

I disagree, the inner city areas might be dangerous because of social deprivation and break down in law and order in gang areas - but when you have the well to do spouting hate speech, attacking their own democracy and doing nothing to equalise the wealth across the US and the access to basic care - that is scary.
The ghastly mix of religious fundamentalism, racism, political and judicial corruption seems a hideous and dangerous mix to any sane and civilised person.

Is this where you start bringing up Chicago?

Sometimes I think parts of America are still living in the Wild West with that pioneer mentality, frontiersmen all. The guns are for more than just shooting rabbits. Deeply engrained and a source of pride and nothing the rest of the more evolved can do about it!

I have despaired about the USA ever since that November day in 2016 when trump was elected. My despair grew as the world watched trump and his antics. Then the 6 January debacle. trump had laid the ground for his not winning a second time, so when he didn’t, he and all his MAGA followers went on what has seemed to me a continual rant about how the election was stolen from him. If he is re-elected I can’t see how the USA can ever be considered the leader of the Western world ever again. They are at a very dangerous crossroads. And of course, I haven’t even mentioned their horrific gun laws and reduction of women’s rights. Gilead here we come.

I would rather get lost in the Bible Belt getting lost in Miami or New York seems a bit more risky, probably not as bad as Johannesburg though.

WEF is the World Economic Forum under the direction of Klaus Schwab. WEF goals align with UN Agenda 2030.

Both Boris Johnson, Rishi Sunak and Macron are Klaus Schwab protégés. In addition, King Charles also is a strong supporter of the World Economic Forum.

Their goals include the elimination of national sovereignty, elimination of private property, elimination of individual sovereignty etc. to be ruled by an elite group of globalists who will makes decisions on our behalf because we are deemed incapable.

Basically Fascism/Marxism…

It’s not Donald we have to be worried about, Ron DeSantis ( if he runs) is the scary one.

Trump is excruciatingly awful - but you’re right- the way De SANTIS is bringing in laws to stifle truth and change history, not to mention banning books, etc, etc , and at speed is truly Scary!

He’s the best president US has had.
The truth about the stolen election will come out
As will the truth about Biden’s nefarious dealings with China
Trump has gone after the child & organ traffickers How can that be wrong ????

I sincerely hope that was a sarcastic comment - if not, try looking at the Dominion case against Fox - which shows how they all knew at Fox that Trump and cronies were all Liars and even some “crazy” = but carried on telling their viewers lies as their audiences were stupid and wanted to hear that!! That brought in the numbers and the money so they didn’t care that they knew it was all lies - but do Trump followers know about this - mainly No, it’s being kept quiet on the right-wing channels… even IF Trump supporters understand it’s all lies they keep up support for Trump …. WHY would ANY reasoning person do that???

If you live in the UK - I would think you have more problems at home since you are rapidly becoming a WEF nation. I suggest you get off mainstream media so you can understand the “true” situation - not the propaganda that abides on mainstream media.

I don’t believe there is a clear understanding of Biden’s destruction over the last 24 months nor Trump’s accomplishments during his tenure.

Not living in the UK, I would not comment on your political climate except to note that you are tracking closely to all WEF goals which will result in enslavement if allowed to continue forward.

Oh we have a clear understanding of Trump - egregious human being !!!! Biden is at least trying to do good but sadly he’s not a good public speaker! But his actions show he’s trying to put america back on the right path, reverse all the harm done by yucky Trump, and bring the country together again -Trump and DeSantis and the Republicans are splitting the States apart.
Being British we can see what’s going on over there with an unbiased eye - far better than you Americans who seem to be indoctrinated by Guns, Hate and awful cults like Q-Anon, etc, who say utterly stupid things like Biden and the Democrats are a cabal of Child eating/abusing cannibals ! How can any thinking person not see all this???

Yeah, agreed, scary alright.👀
If Biden stands again and Trump does too then it’s on the cards that the orange one will be back!

Wow! How many politicans are there in the world? Obviously all squeaky clean, of course. Yes, Trump is human, he makes mistakes but I think the real reason people don't like him is his Self Confidence and swagger. He knows he's good at business. He's a billionaire for goodness sake and people don't like successful people. So, what have they got asd President, an old guy with dementia (I know what dementia looks like in a person's face), a VP who probably wouldn't get a job teaching Kindergarten, an ex-President who was VERY friendly with a lady named Monica and whose wife has a lot of involvement in chemical companies that poisoned all our gardens because we can't be bothered to pull up weeds.

volver3 Tue 11-Apr-23 12:33:26

Everyone makes mistakes, but Trump encouraged insurrection and lied about winning the election. He lied about how many people turned up in the Mall to his inauguration. He is an inveterate liar.

As for being good at business, he is now worth significantly less that he was when he started in business, backed up by daddy's money. He's terrible at business.

He is a self made man - self made in that he makes himself out to be something he's not.

Aveline Tue 11-Apr-23 12:36:31

Volver3 is spot on.

I find Trump's popularity unfathomable. How stupid can his supporters be?! We met some Americans recently and had a long discussion with them. They were absolutely torn. They said that there are good people in the Republicans and good people in the Democrats but neither party is good or worth supporting. These were educated and employed people in their late fifties.
Meanwhile, I always liked Hilary Clinton.

Not unfathomable at all they supported Johnson, then voted Truss as PM.
It’s easy just tell voters what they want to hear, the truth doesn’t matter until you get elected.

Aveline Tue 11-Apr-23 13:30:17

Katie59 it's far more nuanced than that!

If he's that astute a businessman, how did he manage to lose most of the money his father "loaned" him?

Trump is many things, but he most certainly is not a good businessman. i assume his Father was aware of his shortcomings as even he couldn't manage to get him a job anywhere. It has been said that if the money Daddy gave him had been put in ISAs or equivalent safe savings, they would be worth more than Trump is now. He is a one man fraudulent Ponzi scheme, up to his neck in debts.

Indeed.

Horrible in business, Dad banked him a very large amount. My brother, a soon to retire NYC attorney likens Don to a lying liar who lies. That about covers it all.
