Primrose53 it doesn't matter where your parents are from or what colour you are, if you deal with people differently because of their skin colour, you are racist.

She was talking about their culture not their colour.

The real racists here are the abusers who deliberately sought out young girls, predominately white, to rape, drug and impregnate. They didn’t seek out girls from their own culture did they?

Suela Braverman should be married to Farage what a pair they would make

Obviously you understand nothing about racism Primrose why do you think she can’t be racist because she has a mixed race heritage herself it doesn’t preclude her in any way at all
Of course she racist and hugely unfeeling, insensitive and with a nasty cruel streak in her
Do we get headlines every time a white man abuses a child There are white gangs too you know ?
Have you ever seen a headline ‘White man abuses ……..’no never, nor me

I almost started a thread on the same issue Glorianny. Sadly, it's quite evident that some people believe Braverman, who is doing racists' job for them.

Suella said ‘almost all’ Glorianny, not all.

She said "groups of men" "almost all British-Pakistani"
A few days before the release of the news about these trials. The trials had been going on for a long time. Although they were not public knowledge and news could not be released about them it is highly likely that as Home secretary she was at least aware they were happening. So why would she make such a statement? It's part of an orchestrated campaign to make people afraid of immigrants.

What she said is correct. How can she be racist? Her parents I believe are Mauritian and Indian. I think she is doing a good job actually.

Have you ever seen the ex Police Detective Maggie Oliver who worked closely with the hundreds if not thousands of girls who were raped, drugged, abused etc by British Pakistani men? It has finally been confirmed that this would have stopped much earlier on if the Police and social services had acted when they were first told about this but they didn’t because they were scared of being seen as racist. They knew what was going on for years but did nothing!

This disgusting group of abusers from the West Midlands are equally vile but thank goodness it has not gone on for decades like the other lot and they are all being jailed.

The abuse had gone on for almost a decade.
Craig Guildford, the chief constable of West Midlands police, said: “It is important to remain open-minded about who can commit these offences. They know no social or religious boundaries and it is important to remind the public and professionals to report their concerns to the police, regardless

Volver was quite correct, anyone who treats people differently because of their skin colour is racist.

"How can she be racist? Her parents I believe are Mauritian and Indian."

Best non sequitur have heard for some time.

People from all cultures can be racist.

Whats changed already is that police forces are now much more on the ball as regards grooming - there's a long way to go.

Those past incidents did have a holding back for the reasons described but that has been uncovered a long time ago and therefore it has long been accepted how dreadfully badly it was dealt with and not just because of race issues but sheer bad handling and not listening to survivors too

Bravermans statements were a posturing for political gain, nothing less.

....and yes I couldn't help noticing somewhat wryly that the next day we hear of what has been going on for centuries - white people mainly men but women too sexually exploiting children.

Come on now, what you mean?

On 1st April Suella Braverman wrote in the Daily Mail about grooming gangs and child abuse and said the perpetrators are groups of men, almost all British-Pakistani, who hold cultural attitudes completely incompatible with British values
www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-11928629/SUELLA-BRAVERMAN-mission-ensure-really-no-hiding-place-gangs-grooming-young-girls.html
The story of 21 people convicted in West Midlands was released on Wednesday 5th April. The perpetrators are all white and are both male and female.
Isn't it time we had a Home Secretary who knew what she was talking about? And one who didn't write inaccurate and racially harmful press releases?
