If the"state" had raided the home of the leading political party in ANY other country there would have been an outcry ...but hey its fine for it to happen here .
Its not PUBLIC money they are saying is missing its donations from members for the use OF the party !
Yet BILLIONS misappropriated by the BOjo circus and not a bloody word ,never mind tents in the garden or an overload of police !
Where IS Michelle Mone and her illgotten millions ....billions? Seems nobody is bothered about that!
If this nonsense had happened in any other country there would be an outcry...Ex FM's home raided and politically sensitive materials removed.Sounds a lot like the great dictators in WM to me with police "Scotland" dancing to their tune. All in the name of a union that never was

I think the cartoon is saying something along the lines of

the SNP in real life is being crucified

as Volver posted

Surely that is sympathetic to SNP?

Also (as Volver pointed out) it is clever to base it on the life of Brian.

I don't care for it, but people can and should say what they like in a democracy.

Political cartoons don't have to be funny.
I'm not a Christian so not offended in the least about that.
The crosses are crosses of St Andrew so that's quite clever.
The reference of Life of Brian is clever too.
The SNP leadership in real life is being "crucified" by the press and everyone else, it seems.

I really don't know how I feel about it. I probably wouldn't have published it in the national MSM, if it was up to me.

One of their cartoonists is very poor. Which one was this?

FannyCornforth Sat 08-Apr-23 13:59:48

And it was in yesterday’s Times, not today’s

FannyCornforth Sat 08-Apr-23 13:58:44

It was a reference to Life of Brian’s ‘Always look on the bright side of life’ scene.
I’ll see if I can find it…

Charlie Hebdo comes to mind.

I guess it’s meant to be a political satire and actually on their side?
Very bad taste tho.

I, am absolutely horrified after seeing today's 'cartoon' in the times which has been posted on Face Book. It depicts the Crucifixions of the current 1st Minister of Scotland, his predecessor and her husband. I am not a relative of these 3 nor even a close friend, but I do know them personally - all lovely kind and caring people - they do not deserve this. Also an insult to Christians on this, the holiest day in the calendar. In addition, it seems to be lacking the basic requirement of a cartoon, i,e, It is not funny. Any last vestige of decency or respect oot the windae.
