How ironic - some HMRC staff essentially committing fraud.

I don't get it either
It's very scapegoatesque
Iam,no different to anger for Camilla, Charles and others in the family, exception being Diana.
Like lots of gransnet posts /threads its ALWAYS the DIL's fault ,the sons are being manipulated like puppets! Sometimes I wonder why I even come on here so many very narrow closed minded women .I thank whatever god you all have that I'm not one of your number.
The royal family cares nothing about any of you why on earth are you all so invested in their lives ?
I’m still stunned by the level of anger directed especiallly at Meghan but also at Harry. We don’t know them or own them . We can’t control or influence what they do.

Some really believe the day of the coronation was chosen to make things difficult for the Sussex couple,
Others put it forward as a suggestion because it suits their POV.
Who knows?
I, (along with all posters on GN) don’t know the real reason why he’s coming alone.
H&M tell their own version of the truth, the media give their own version of the truth.
We discuss it endlessly giving our own opinions.
As Dickens pointed out about M whatever she does from now on will be the wrong thing wrong thing^.

Ps although some (not all) millennials may think the world revolves around them, it doesn't.

Yes fully aware of that. The clue was in the question mark.

Meghan may be ‘damned’ but why is that?
I'm not disputing the reason maddyone, just pointing out that it doesn't much matter whether she comes or not.
The Coronation is about Charles - her being or not being in attendance is probably going to be a minor detail in the history annals.
Critics say she should come to "support" Harry - the last time she did that she was condemned for holding Harry's hand in public and would no doubt be criticised for making some gesture that people didn't approve of this time.
What I'm trying to say is that she's blotted her copy-book, well and truly, so whatever she does from now on will be the wrong thing. I doubt she'll 'recant', she'll not ever be forgiven, so it all becomes rather irrelevant to pretend that there's a right or wrong way for her to behave in relation to the Coronation because as I pointed out previous, she's already damned either way.

Could it have been booked that day to try to manipulate the situation so they wouldn't come ?
You are not being serious? 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
It’s NOT all about Meghan - even if she thinks that it is.

He will be damaged if he doesn’t have birthday celebrations but no problem that he doesn’t know grandfathers, uncles, aunts, cousins , no knowledge of his extended family.
So very true Annie. So very true.

There could well have been jealousy from another quarter which was difficult but that doesn't explain the almost cruel treatment of the late Queen when she was dying and specifically wished to see them, mis speaking about the King, Harry's father and other matters, unkind comments about his step mother, breaches of trust and privacy over private family matters. There's really no excuse for any of this, except,to make money. Even their mother hasn't been immune from the pursuit of financial gain. Not very good.

I think it's the only way they can earn the sort of money that will give them a millionaires life style. I too can understand them wanting to live in America, that's fair enough . Two of my cousins went to live in Australia, but both have kept on good terms wit us left in England, so much easier now with the internet, so that younger family members do know each other, meet up when possible, and generally stay in touch. With H & M there's no question of any family rapport now, or in the future, which is bewildering and sad.
Yes, it's sad. ☹
They were both quite wealthy so perhaps didn't need to work but everyone needs a reason to get up in the morning.
Meghan could have gone back to acting and Harry could have been in demand in some capacity as an ex-Army officer.
We went to one of those when we were staying with our DS in Aus. Galaxy. The dogs had a knickerdoggy glory and we had ice cream sundaes
.
I'd go to support my husband Dickens, attend the ceremony, make a discrete exit and celebrate my son's 4th birthday when I got home.

I think you’ve got it right Dickens! She can’t do right for doing wrong in the matter of the Coronation. And if a previous poster is right and Camilla is worried about being upstaged by Catherine then she would be even more worried if Meghan was there as well, and the press would have a field day. I have no love for Camilla but she does her best for Charles and the late Queen supposedly liked and approved of her, although given that Camilla was going to be there and Charles has always said that she would be his Queen, it’s better that she was given the Royal seal of approval before the late Queen died. I shall enjoy watching the Coronation as we do ceremony and pageantry so well. I was six at the last Coronation and remember quite a lot of it, watching with the neighbours on my aunt’s very small tv. I remember being quite scared when the anointing took place under the canopy!

Tbh I agree Sparklefizz. These two were so popular and could have done so much for this country, and the Commonwealth which the late Queen gifted to them, at the same time remaining popular, important members of the RF. Money would not have been an issue so no need for tell all books, and interviews, family staying intact and children growning up knowing, and being fond of each other like the York girls and William and Harry were. As it is, Harry's children, apart from Doria, have no relations on either side that they are familiar with. The Wales children have lost their cousins and their once much loved Uncle. The King, his son, and grandchildren, all in all, very sad and disappointing.
I have no criticism at all of Meghan and Harry going to live in America; it's what many young families do, emigrate. Most stay in touch and on good terms with their families.
Obviously Harry's circumstances were different to those of most young people and I can understand him wanting to avoid the press, publicity and stay out of the limelight.
That's why I find their subsequent publicity-seeking behaviour very odd.
Ah yes-how popular they were. Now that couldn't possibly have put anyone else's nose out of joint could it???
