Even more revelations about the SNP today

Police have arrested Colin Beattie, treasurer of the SNP today. Peter Murrell is still under police investigation, the unknown provenance of a £110,000 campervan parked up at Nicola Sturgeon's mother in law's driveway and now the treasurer has been arrested. What on earth is going on within the SNP? Are they trying to emulate Boris?

So I'll ask again...how does your CA DH explain that they resigned in September

I’ll ask him next time I consult a Medium. 🤬

I'm sorry Foxygloves.

But to be fair, you brought him into the conversation.

If you knew of the difference in legalities in reportage of audits volver I'm surprised that you thought it relevant to bring your wee charity's accounts into the discussion at all. Absolutely no relevance whatsoever.

Totally agree with you Whitewave & Foxygloves

My "wee" charity?

🤣

You know nothing Jon....oh no, wait - I've done that before.

Aveline Wed 19-Apr-23 15:41:14

Released pending further enquiries.

Blondiescot Wed 19-Apr-23 15:41:22

Once again, as with previous investigations, bear in mind that this is still regarded as a live case under Scots Law and people should be mindful of what they post in regards to the case.

Just a bit of background to what the WM Government think is a valid and grown up way to deal with the Scottish Government.

It's getting way beyond a joke. This man is Foreign Secretary.

Nannageorge Wed 19-Apr-23 15:45:25

Indeed Blondiescot, including the on going enquiries into Baroness Move.

Nannageorge Wed 19-Apr-23 15:46:06

Aye, Rosie51, what do you know?

Aye volver, about the same as you. Aren't we clever grin

Foxygloves Wed 19-Apr-23 16:53:52

Any reason I should not have?
I did employ the past tense.

Boris Johnson was NOT arrested.

but should have been, in my opinion. But, that is for another thread.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 19-Apr-23 17:01:15

Colin Beattie has stepped away from being SNP Treasurer whilst the investigation continues.

Eshma Wed 19-Apr-23 17:07:32

How many sign off the accounts?
it. 3 isn't it.
Two down, one to go.

Aveline Wed 19-Apr-23 17:12:35

Just read this. Makes you wonder.

Seriously?
In early July 2022, 62 of the United Kingdom's 179 government ministers, parliamentary private secretaries, trade envoys, and party vice-chairmen resigned from their positions in the second administration formed by Boris Johnson as Prime Minister. (Courtesy of Wikipedia).

Slavering pleasure?
That’s inaccurate unless you can see the slavering, especially from someone who rejected verbal responses. because what they said appeared as text.

Even ‘pleasure’ is stretching it a bit, but it’s a relief to see the imperfections of a different parliamentary party, especially elsewhere than in England.
I still wonder if the dramalama of all these arrests is to hide something else. That’s the usual suggestion made by some posters about other political parties.

Romping ahead of the number of Conservative prime ministers Aveline! grin

All parliamentary parties are flawed Mollygo. Just a reminder though, there isn’t an English parliamentary party, the Westminster government rules over us all to a greater or lesser extent, which is why we all have a direct interest in what they do.

Slavering.

Yes, good word.

"Schadenfreude" works too.

Thank you Nannageorge. Not sure if I see much difference in the detail you kindly outline but there y'go. My ignorance knows no bounds.

Makes me wonder why you think anything from ScotNatWatch is worth re-posting.

has she been arrested ?
if not, it is not a current criminal case.
contempt of court act only applies to live or current criminal cases.

but several posters seem to feel as if they have impunity from the operation of the law, with prejudicial comments on what are live cases.

volver with your auditing experience maybe you could offer to do the SNP's accounts. Or are they maybe a tad more complex and larger than the charity account you do?

I would have thought the auditors should have given enough notice to enable a replacement to be appointed seamlessly, but what do I know? Just doesn't seem very honourable business practice to me.

Good idea.
However, I know someone who audits auditors.
Auditors are not always perfect.
