Oh another thought. Just curious, but I wonder who was looking after the children. Maybe they were with the friends whose place they were staying at.

Not wearing seatbelts, not expecting paparazzi to be around when Meghan had been given a high profile award was rather foolish.

As another poster said, the only three people the children know as family were together in one car.
This all happening with no seatbelts on in a "mad chase" through the streets of traffic-bound Manhattan, some of it in an ordinary cab with an unknown driver.

Harry should have known better from experience.

This is the kind of people the anti-M&H types are, and those who side with them are cut from the same cloth.
Is this all thus clique stuff? Count me out. I am my own person. I did not attack anyone.

Did someone mention bikini and heat? I'm up for it!

This has to be one of the hardest websites to workout. Therefore I am unsubscribing.

^Deserve everything I get, do I?^ I don't know what you get. I do think you're very good at dishing criticism and personal remarks out, but a tad sensitive when it's returned.
I stand by my comment that it's standard for you to post something and when challenged just to do a Ah forget it. You have no idea. type post. Bridges and jumpers comes to mind. We see you.

Oh Dear God.

To be fair, all threads on GN are not like this.

No, Mary, just certain threads…

I am neither team Sussexes or team Edinburghs.

I am though aware of the traffic system and conditions where this chase took place. NY cabbies do not move off unless you have your seatbelt on, including Ubers. Manhattans traffic is gridlocked more hours than it is free flowing, even then it’s at a crawl.

If you do not want the paparazzi to follow you in the car they see you getting into, do not leave by the front entrance in full glare of the press pack, simples…

Agatha Christie's play, "The Mouse Trap" is the world's longest continuously (almost) running fictional crime drama, and was first staged in 1952. Is this thread aiming to compete with it? 18 pages so far! Mind you, I don't think we need a Detective Sergeant Trotter or even a Miss Marple to establish who the main suspects are in this case, and what their painfully obvious motives were. Alternative titles in this latest "drama"? A Storm in a Teacup? Much Ado About Nothing? Oh What A Tangled Web we Weave? A Fairy Tale of New York? That'll do me . Exit, stage left..

Me too.

Sorry to all those "It never happened" It did. The main agency responsible say they had 4 people working and they followed them- "armed only with cameras"!!!
They transferred to a taxi and were still followed.
They eventually had a police convoy to take them home.

Now their security team may have handled things badly but that isn't M&H's fault.
The photographers may think they were not aggressive, but M&H thought they were,
The taxi driver might not have been bothered by the people following, but the security guard was.
The police may think it wasn't serious but they took them home.

So can people stop pretending nothing happened, because something certainly did. And they are quite entitled to feel scared by the events.

Isn't paps an ugly word?

Or is it me?🤔

Smileless2012 Sat 20-May-23 11:52:53

I don't think anyone's said nothing happened Glorianny simply that what was originally said about the incident was inaccurate.

Anniebach Sat 20-May-23 11:53:30

Yes entitled to say they feel scared same as entitled to say they were married in their garden 3 days before the Church wedding

I know Doria is meant to be involved with looking after the children, but I expect a couple of nannies are also on active duty whenever required,

Exactly so, Smileless, yet some people appear to be struggling with that interpretation. Can't see why? Even Scobie is back-pedalling like a good 'un.. for all the good it will do now. Own goal.

Yes, it sounds like a euphemism for something unpleasant

Germanshepherdsmum Sat 20-May-23 12:35:00

In Tudor times it was slang for ‘breasts’. I find it an ugly word too.

Try reading the thread. There are at least half a dozen posters who claim it couldn't have happened in New York, because of traffic or it was staged by M&H.

I'm pleased none of the photos taken during the chase have been published. Presumably if they realise they aren't going to make any money, because M&H will sue them for harassment if they do publish, the agency and the photographers responsible will stop chasing people.
