I was just reading about the original Dutch programme. 6 months of counselling before any treatment. Any sign of other problems and that could be extended to a year and beyond. Of course there aren't the staff to do that here. But it sounds better than a complete ban.

I think that originally in this country, the requirement was to live and work as your preferred gender for 2 years before surgery was given, during which time hormonal treatment was made available.

In nature there are already species that are able to procreate without a male if one is not available interestingly, all the offspring are then female

It shouts to me of a move towards making women pointless. Remove us from the language, pretend that men can do anything we can do (and beat us in areas where physical strength is important) take away our sense of self along with any security that women’s spaces afforded, and hope we just disappear.

This gets to the heart of it for me. The slow eradication of women as an entity, as a group, to make us irrelevant. Men can be women - because they say so.

It is men - not infrequently violently and offensively, telling women what a woman is. It is not women who are allowed to define womanhood. It is men. Using the tactics that men use - violence, sexually violent terminology - as witnessed in the placards that express contempt for women... "suck on my girl-dick, TERF". This is misogyny, it really is.

It's not about a trans man becoming pregnant. It's not about trans women wearing a dress. It's not about trans gender identity... it is about the diminution of women, the attempt to obliterate them.

Why? I'm not sure, but I think it has something to do with the gradual so-called 'feminisation' of society. Women now start to call the shots and invade the power-spaces that men have for centuries reserved for themselves, and some misogynistic men - the more culturally liberal - are using the gender-revolution to get back that control. I think incel-culture springs from the same well. Maybe it's the price we are paying for demanding to be treated as equals at the hands of men whose real identity turmoil is not necessarily one of gender, but of self'. Am I allowed to suggest that? I'm not applying it generally, only specifically.

Yes it is Glorianny but that's not the same as being pregnant and giving birth; it's not as if the artificial uterus can or will be placed inside a human being.

Gay men can have a baby by using a surrogate or adoption, as can a heterosexual couple but there's yet to be a replacement for sperm so for VS to say science has enabled women to have babies without the need of men is nonsense.
