How would you describe the insults that my dear friends daughter has received on a daily basis from the black community because her partner is black and she is white.

I didn't see the video. I do believe from comments that the mother reacted badly and that it did her no favours at all, and was a bad example for her child.

What I said is that it is impossible for most of us to know how the cumulative and repetitive effect of racism leads to that unfortunate form of response. If you have close friends and family who have been constantly and repetitively stopped, questionned, often in a very confrontational was, deliberately 'pressing the buttons' - perhaps you would understand this better. She was wrong to react this way- but we have to try and understand why.

Iam64 but other populations have also experienced it (eg Jews, Mexicans, Chinese) - all we can do now is move forward and in my opinion one way of doing so would be for us all to stop referencing colour at all.

Of course you would. However, the issue here is whether the woman kicking off in front of her child because she was asked to show her bus ticket was the victim of racism. Most people don’t believe she was. Black people can’t just cry racism every time they’re challenged. Some black people do commit crime you know.

There’s no doubt black people experience racism. For that reason, the colour of people’s skin can’t be dismissed as irrelevant.
