Because unless we have valid passports no one else can leave to go to another country. Until they claim asylum. They are illegal.

Actually my comment was highlighted and repeated in multiple posts by you. I reported what I saw a group of men acting suspicious around lorries that were heading for the ferry terminal at Caen and you are right I have no sympathy for fit young men who pay thousands of Euros to people smuggling gangs to travel to the UK on dinghies having mostly destroyed their ID or the ones who break into lorries and cause untold damage that the lorry drivers get fined for.

You are missing the point Freya5, asylum seekers have the same status exactly in France as they do in the UK.

I don’t understand at all why anybody would think that it is up to France to house people who want to come to the UK. I don’t think Nicenanny3 has any rationale for her shooting from the hip approach to this either, which is why I asked her to explain.
