I came across this article posted on MN.
It strikes me as very perceptive as Harry yet again drags up his mother’s death at the Invictus Games.
It’s so inappropriate and disrespectful to those thousands of injured servicemen and their relatives that an over-privileged, extremely wealthy individual constantly turns the subject to himself.

Glorianny

WellRose you always know when you are proving your point on GN the posts become more and more personal. Sad but true.

You're right.

No, it’s when the posts descend to a farcical level!

WellsRose Sat 09-Sept-23 10:37:40

Well it's 20 odd years since I was a Samaritan. Help for.Heroes was only started in 2007 sand we've come on leaps and bounds in understanding in PTSD since the early 2000 which is fantastic.

Harry claims in 2013 there was no understanding of mental illness

Harris27 Sat 09-Sept-23 10:43:17

Just sick of it all now don’t really read much on them now.

I’m afraid you’re not proving any of your ‘points’ WR.

I've mainly asked questions so I'm not sure which points in referring to. Please could you point out the ones you refer to?

Oh, for goodness sake!

As I detailed in an earlier post, which presumably you didn't read, Help for Heroes is just one (and a very recent) charity which supports ex-service personnel with all kinds of trauma.

One charity was started in the 1880s and is still there to support those with problems today. I could provide a link if you are interested in extending your knowledge base about it.
There are very many others.

You were happy to accept that you were making points when Glorianny talked of them. I will change ‘points’ to ‘allegations’, of which you have made a good many - and been shot down each time.

What allegations?

Germanshepherdsmum Sat 09-Sept-23 10:54:03

I’m not going to waste my time listing them. You know full well.

I have better things to do than waste my time on this rubbish.

No I don't know what you're referring to and that's why I asked.

Perhaps RTFT?

Jaberwok Sat 09-Sept-23 11:11:31

I too would strongly advise people on here against accusing others on here of not understanding bereavement and despair. I can confidently say some do!

I've been told I've made allegations that can't be proved. I don't think I have so there's obviously a difference of understanding so I think I'm entitled to ask for clarification

I will make one allegation though. I have been personally attacked. I've had my posting history brought up and told I write in similar style to another poster. That goes against talk guidelines. It's been hinted that I wasn't a Samaritan and if so I must low calibre.

I think It smacks of trying to push me off the thread because I'm not there just to criticise Harry.

WellsRose Sat 09-Sept-23 11:23:59

calliste. You are accusing me of being a troll in a roundabout way

Anniebach Sat 09-Sept-23 11:33:11

Jaberwok so right, some here do understand bereavement and despair.

I don't if that's another dig at me but I've already responded since that original comment. I have never accused people of not understanding bereavement. I said people that respond to bereavement differently. I'm getting a little bit peed off with people twisting my words.

I would like to share the following- much talk of Harry’s grief little of William’s, this brought to mind

My daughters were age 5 and 7 when their much loved daddy was killed, I didn’t know until years later, my elder daughter said to her little sister ‘we haven’t got daddy know, I will be daddy and look after mummy and you’,

Did William try to fill a need for Harry ?

Corruption in the royal family ?

Prince Andrew paying off VG.
The cash for honours investigation which was closed without Charles even being interviewed.
Charles is exempt from criminal and civil proceedings.
Epstein
Peer Ball

That is very touching. I'm sorry about your husband.

In this instance WR is quite right.

We really mustn’t suggest a correlation between one poster and another just because we feel we’ve heard it before, or because they use similar tactics, accusations etc.
We’ve been told by WR that it’s against talk guidelines and besides which, it’s quite possible that there are two of them. 😁

Perish the thought, I need a lie down! 🤣

Anyway, I bought a French newspaper today, as you do, to keep up with the stories to discuss with friends. Pages about le rugby, quite a bit about the earthquake in Morocco, an article about the escaped prisoner in London, the upcoming visit of King Charles, warmingrelations with UK, the price of rice; but the Invictus Games - no mention at all, despite their being in it. And Harry, who?

Joseann Sat 09-Sept-23 14:31:40

but on GN, it doesn’t count. People can and do talk about anything.
Guilty as charged, I know I don't 'alf go on sometimes.

That's a shame for the participants.
