Surely it was a bit more than 'muttering'? If he only 'muttered' something, who'd have known apart from his close neighbours?

He says very quietly "There's no such thing as gender idology" Braverman doesn't hear. I doubt if many heard. Thought I posted this before you can see him being spoken to, then hauled out by security and a policeman.

I watched something on the news about the man being man handled by the security guards for saying that Suella was talking nonsense. He was removed from the hall but not only that they escorted him away from the building and part the way down the road it looked like he had outstayed his welcome. All quite bazaar.

I am so tired of living in this state where its citizens are convinced that everyone is guilty until they are proved innocent. Where every fellow human is presumed to be a cheat, liar or possible terrorist...

Whilst I agree in principle MaizieD having been in the vincity when the IRA detonated several bombs in London in the 1970’s, having friends and family caught up in the London Underground bombings (still sporting scars both physical and mental) it is always at the back of my mind.

It has taken me until February this year to go on an underground train, and I shook like a jelly the whole time, my friend who I was with was shocked and felt terrible. I am pleased I done it, but I will be back to taxiing round London for the foreseeable (unless of course I am in my own car)

There is no denying that due to the state of the Middle East (thank you Tony Blair) and our own homegrown terrorists that it is never the right time to be lax over security measures.

Fair enough, GG13, but don't you think that the tory Chair of the London Assembly will have been well investigated a long time ago?

And all participants to the conference would have had a physical security check before they were allowed in.

Yes, it is ironic, but most of the people who have been 'cancelled' are ones who were prevented from speaking from the podium/stage rather than hecklers on the floor.

But possibly not at all well known to the security detail. As others have intimated, they daren't take risks and have been trained/ordered to respond in the way they did.

I’m as sorry as Glorianny about hecklers being evicted. My dad was very proud of his auntie Maggie who heckled throughout the speech of a visiting Tory to their town during another period of trouble’at’mill. Dad morphed into a compassionate conservative in his 30’s and remained bemused that his 3 daughters remained staunchly Labour despite hitting our 50’s

He was ejected because he spoke out, which given Braverman was busy condemning the idea that people are disciplined for using the wrong words, is completely ironic.
I can see the irony.

However, I can also see that the security people cannot take any chances. Even a Tory Party member could be a suspect.

Heckling used to be accepted as part of delivering political speeches. It can add to the debate.
We live in a more reactive society and there seems to be increasingly high levels of anger and polarised view points.
I’m sorry this man was evicted but the security staff can’t know who,poses a threat and who is just going to have a shout,

Actually if you watch the video a number of people are talking to him before he is hauled out and removed from the hall. He hasn't even stood up, but is just sitting there. You can check who anyone is in two minutes. The idea that he somehow constituted a threat is ridiculous. At the Tory party conference people are disciplined for using any words.

I agree. The Tower Bridge terrorist was attending a course he’d been booked on and presumably wore a name badge as you do at these things and was known to some people there.

Hmm, that’s hardly the same thing though, as he was a convicted extremist, a Jihadist, whereas Andrew Boff was a long-standing Tory councillor, presumably with no criminal record, who would have been vetted before being admitted to the conference.

I dont like anyone being removed or dealt with by police for their speech. If we believe in free speech then we have to support the right to speak of those we vehemently disagree with

If you watch the video there are a number of people talking to him before they decide to get security to escort him out. He's wearing his ID badge so wouldn't be difficult to check him out.
