The audience were clapping in agreement. Yesterday a black showbiz presenter, Stephanie (can’t remember surname) said the same so it’s not just mixed race babies. She said there’s nothing racist about it.

So nobody has ever before discussed whether a baby will take after the blond haired mother or the dark haired father. Or if the baby will look more like one parent than the other.
What makes it racist is when someone queries why people might discuss that implying that there’s a cause for concern, rather than just interest.

Anyone speak Dutch here? I translated the alleged page to the best of my ability - it's not far off German for syntax - but I am not perfect.
There's the lengthy drivel about the Oprah stuff, then suddenly a final throwaway sentence which suddenly says, "But in the private letters an identity was revealed: Charles." Without seeing the rest of the book its difficult to tell whether these sort of end of paragraph comments are in Scobie's writing style or not. ??

Oprah has said that Meghan had not prepared her for the revelation, that she was in fact blindsided by it. Perhaps her reaction was surprise at something that was unexpected.

And yet Oprah, herself a person of colour, feigned shock at the suggestion that anyone could discuss the baby’s possible skin colour - despite our now knowing that this is commonplace in mixed race families.

If I’d been asked to guess who did the speculating my money would have been on Philip or Anne.

Many of Harry's so-called "memories" that he describes in detail never ever happened and are just figments of his imagination or spitefully invented to cause trouble. Ditto Meghan. They have been proved to be lies.

All this possible naming of family members - was that comment even made by anyone at all ? Is it another vicious lie? Meghan told Oprah it was made by one person when she was pregnant. Oprah then asked Harry the same question when he joined them in the garden and he said it was made to him before he married Meghan. So two different stories already.

Now suddenly it's two people who commented, and poor Catherine has been added to the mix because Meghan will always try and poison people against Catherine because of her insane jealousy.

If it was said by anyone at all, I would have bet it was Prince Philip. Now I don't believe it ever happened.

Whoever did put these words in the printed version, and presumably there is evidence from the texts before and after translation, is liable to be sued, so I feel extremely sorry for the two translators. Perhaps Meghan forgot she showed them a page from her script from the Oprah interview.

These names weren’t just plonked down randomly in the text. There would have been sentences before and after presumably. Still a deafening silence from H and M.

An excellent publicity campaign by the publishers, invent 2 names without any evidence then recant them as the work of some mischief maker.

It doesn’t matter that the comment was or was not made, the degree of hostility by that time was such, that it is believable

Perhaps they were confused by the titles, as in the former Prince of Wales and his wife, and helpfully added names just to clarify. But they say the names were there.

The translators need to produce the copy they translated from, but a name is a name isn't it. How can you wrongly translate something that wasn't there?

I wonder if one were to wade through the different translations what differences one might find? And I bet some of the meanings might get a bit lost in translation.
I've seen the Dutch page that definitely mentions Charles in this context, but I'm intrigued as to how Catherine could be implicated.
I thought it might have been Camilla by just grinning smiling in the background. 😀
