Just read that the Princess is in hospital following surgery. I hope she makes a good recovery.

We may not be treated equally and some may think we aren't all of equal importance but we are.

BlueBelle Thu 18-Jan-24 07:12:23

But to all those saying it must be serious, two weeks in hospital it’s a long time you are thinking about it from a commoner's point of view, no matter what we had we would be out in two days or maybe not have even get the operation for two years
I wish the lady well BUT it just points out the huge difference between the haves and have nots

Your granny would still be in the ambulance waiting

Gastro Intestinal surgeon reported a successful operation

You did make me laugh Pittcity. 2 for 1 offer 😀

No doubt Princess Anne will take on extra duties, that is if she has a space in her busy timetable.

Queen Camilla will be keeping the King’s spirits up no doubt. They do laugh a lot together 👍

I was wondering about Crohn's too. Poor girl. Of course she'll be speculated on. She lives a public life. Most of the public like her and wish her well. That's (public) life. Hope she feels much better soon.

Oh, f g sake!

she is an athlete and in credibly fit as we've seen. she goes on the trampoline with her children and regularly joins in with various sports! she is not ill .

maybe an upper hernia from pregnancy repair.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 18-Jan-24 08:50:32

We don’t know what procedure Catherine has had, nor do we need to.

Even Private patients are not kept in longer than is absolutely necessary (posting from family experiences). No doubt she wants to get back to her little ones as soon as possible.

I wish her a complete and speedy healing process.

I’ve always thought she was too thin and 2 weeks in hospital is a long time, I hope it’s not something debilitating like Chrons.

Just what I said to my husband last night. She is very, very thin. I would say too thin actually. Crohn’s is definitely a possibility.

It doesn’t mean that those who can afford private treatment should refuse it. If they did the waiting lists would be even longer.

Entirely agree.

I agree too and wish her a speedy recovery. I think she is doing a splendid job! flowers

karmalady Thu 18-Jan-24 09:13:17

Her medical condition is private. Some people have nothing better to do than gossip

I wish her well and a very speedy recovery, she is a national treasure

Grammaretto Thu 18-Jan-24 09:22:29

Cancer has been ruled out apparently, so that's a relief. We can't help speculating. Sorry if it seems ghoulish.

Curlywhirly Thu 18-Jan-24 09:33:39

10 - 14 days recovery time does seem excessive, even for a private hospital. My husband had open heart surgery when he was in his 40s, in a private hospital, and came home after 7 days.

Boz Thu 18-Jan-24 09:39:23

Kate's thinness is highly likely to be genetic. Pictures of her maternal grandparents show them both to be tall, nice-looking and very slim.

Sparklefizz Thu 18-Jan-24 10:07:43

Kate's sister and mother are both tall and very slim.

Mollygo Thu 18-Jan-24 10:14:17

I wish her a speedy recovery, however, long it takes. I’m grateful I’m not important enough, for people to need to speculate on my condition in the media.

Jaberwok Thu 18-Jan-24 10:57:23

I don't know why people try to make Catherines private healthcare an issue, because even if the RF were deposed tomorrow they would still be extremely wealthy and, like most wealthy people would opt for private medicine along with private everything else, so neither the N.H.S or Comprensive Education would ever be an issue for them.

CoolCoco Thu 18-Jan-24 12:51:44

People are speculating an making comparisons because we the people keep them in their privileged lifestyle. Yes, I know they would still be minted without the taxpayers contribution, but that dosh, jewels etc have been accumulated over the years off the backs of the people.

Grantanow Thu 18-Jan-24 14:31:22

While the rich and Royals can bypass the NHS the Tories will never fund it properly. They know the proles are used to waiting, queueing and dying.

I’ve always thought she was too thin and 2 weeks in hospital is a long time, I hope it’s not something debilitating like Chrons.

I was easily as thin as she is at her age. I had a big appetite, ate a lot, and was perfectly well. Some people are just naturally thin.

Germanshepherdsmum Thu 18-Jan-24 16:51:01

She lost quite a lot of weight before her wedding and has, I think, become even thinner. She always looks lovely, but I always wonder if that’s at the cost of eating well. I doubt she eats a lot, or she would be more like the girl we first saw. If anyone denies themself a good, balanced diet it can cause problems down the line. I developed an ulcer after eating too little due to my financial situation combined with stress. I was thin but not healthy. Not good.

Anniebach Thu 18-Jan-24 17:07:56

She must have been under much stress caused by certain allegations

Germanshepherdsmum Thu 18-Jan-24 17:14:07

Which allegations?

Anniebach Thu 18-Jan-24 17:21:12

Her husband chose her because she was suitable and not for love.

Racist

Oldnproud Thu 18-Jan-24 17:33:29

Is it really surprising that people are speculating about what might be wrong with Kate?

In my experience, people are just as quick to gossip and speculate about a neighbour's health, even those that they barely know, when, for instance, an ambulance is seen outside outside the house.

Being inquisitive seems to be a basic part of human nature, and I suspect that over all it is probably a very positive thing. More so than complete indifference to our fellow humans, anyway.

Germanshepherdsmum Thu 18-Jan-24 17:36:16

I really don’t know what you’re talking about Annie. Perhaps you could elaborate.
