What the hell is happening to this country?
Send these scum to Rwanda ASAP.

Totally sick of these violent criminals being allowed to stay here.

He must have been in excruciating pain and possibly blinded judging by the pictures posted. Maybe he just couldn't stand it any more and knew he had no future?

Chestnut Sat 10-Feb-24 16:22:12

If the Police are doing their jobs properly they will scour every bit of cctv footage to trace those two white vans. There are cameras everywhere now, it should be possible. It's very important, in fact essential, to make sure he is not still out there.

I’m wondering, a despicable act such as this one - could it be an act of suicide in itself, the precursor to the perpetrator going on to take their own life?

Galaxy Sat 10-Feb-24 17:00:46

It's an act of domestic violence and suicide often follows.

MissAdventure Sat 10-Feb-24 17:13:23

It's a final act of control to some abusers.

Delila Sat 10-Feb-24 17:15:34

You’re right Galaxy, that’s often the sequence of events. It amounts to a total annihilation of all conscience.

Delila Sat 10-Feb-24 17:16:44

Yes, MissAdventure, that too.

Delila Sat 10-Feb-24 17:17:33

So I think it’s not unlikely that this man has ended his own life.

Deedaa Sat 10-Feb-24 17:34:37

I wonder if Londoners in the 1900s would have called my grandfather in law scum or a low life? I suppose they probably would.

MissAdventure Sat 10-Feb-24 17:43:07

Did he throw acid over women and children?

Delila Sat 10-Feb-24 18:04:38

But Nannashirlz doesn’t appear to single out immigrants who commit such obscene acts when she uses her discriminatory language, does she?

And here is another article about 500 baptisms this time. Again it seems to be the Baptist Church who are being played for fools. The pastor seems to think a dip in the cold sea is enough to test their Christian faith! I despair.

The Daily Mail is certainly doing its bit in highlighting this problem, and hopefully something will be done as a result.

So-called conversions to the Christian faith should be disregarded when the granting of asylum is decided.

They are making a mockery of the Christian faith.

The Minister is a fool.

Maybe they would have done but I thought we'd learned to be better than that. Obviously not!

Christian faiths - plural - still largely encourage mysoginy and the view that women are "property" to be used, abused and disposed of at will. Too many men have the attitude "well, if I can't have you I'll make sure nobody can!"
Is Christianity the mark of civilisation? Don't make me laugh......

Chocolatelovinggran Sun 11-Feb-24 08:49:12

Golly mae13, that's rather a claim. I'm a Christian and have never seen this . My current minister, and her predecessor, both feisty intelligent women, would not have had any truck with such nonsense. No sayings of Jesus support this view.
As with others on this thread I have very real concerns about my faith being ( potentially) exploited but I hope that my life as a Christian does show some aspects of " civilisation ".

caknib Sun 11-Feb-24 08:57:44

Ah well at least have had a laugh at 'The Daily Mail is doing its bit'

Bravo,brave little Mail.

Aveline Sun 11-Feb-24 09:00:05

At least they're coming out and saying what people think. Otherwise we'll disappear as a British culture due to politeness and unwillingness to speak up for ourselves for fear of seeming unkind

Really ?

maddyone Sun 11-Feb-24 09:10:35

What’s your evidence to back up that statement mae?

Iam64 Sun 11-Feb-24 09:38:50

Maeve - Christianity is not as you describe

AGAA4 Sun 11-Feb-24 09:57:56

You seem very bitter about Christianity Mae. I wonder why? I was brought up as a Christian and your description isn't remotely like my experience.

Well if he had attacked women and children or was a paedophile like another one claiming to be Christian then the answer would be yes. I trust he was neither of those.

Not so silly or mad after all possibly?
