It’s the other people getting justice too that I’m concerned about. The Mirror had already settled a number of hacking claims in earlier cases, including Nigel Havers, who was targeted between 2000 and 2004 and subjected to intense intrusion when he was nursing his late wife through the final stages of cancer. That is inexcusable.

He most likely hasn’t, but we’ll never know because his family will never take them to court.

So you agree that Prince Harry should betray confidences of his family for huge amounts of money obviously.

And you seem unable to separate the illegal activities of Morgan from the actions of Harry.

Seven weeks in court, preceded by 4 years of evidence gathering, and you think that the testimony of one person led the judge to his conclusion. Seriously?

I don't think that this is the "success" that Harry's PR team are trying to portray. I think it will end up costing him money.

Of the 130+ cases filed by Harry against the Mirror - 33 sample cases were brought to court and of those Harry won 15 (45%) and lost 18 (55%).

Although the Mirror will have to pay his costs on the cases he won - Harry will likely have to pay the Mirror's costs on the cases he lost.

Harry was claiming legal costs of £2 million - will he get the full amount? I think it unlikely. Judges don't like frivolous litigation and the Judge was clearly unimpressed by some of the cases where the Judge said there was no evidence of any hacking. The judge can also reduce the amount of costs awarded if the case could/should have been settled at an earlier date.

However I guess the mystery of why Harry came to the UK for a quick meet and greet with the King and left within 24 hours. Likely it was more to do with signing the paperwork for this financial settlement than dashing to his father's side. Perhaps explains the cool reception by the Royal family.

Not all of it but having followed the court case the "direct evidence" linking Piers Morgan was from Scobie claiming that he had witnessed this as a very young intern. Although I have doubts that Morgan would have sat in on intern-level meetings.

The judge found Scobie a credible witness - just before the book and lies around Endgame surfaced.

I think Harry did come to see his father but the short reception he received is testimony itself to the distrust the family feel towards him. Even his own father only allowed him some 30 - 45 minutes, and it is reported, William nothing at all.

Presumably an outstanding commitment he had had for some time. Has it occurred to you that perhaps his father didn't want him to cancel his commitments to spend more time with him? As I said before, he's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. No matter what he does, some people will never have a good word to say about him.

The settlement agreement will dictate how much H is paid, including the amount of his costs. It’s not like a situation where a party wins and is awarded costs but the amount of the costs is decided by the court.

He is by some on here. If he hadn't come to visit his father, even for a brief period, the same people would have vilified him for that. Some seem to be so consumed by their hatred of Harry that they can't see past that at all - and as I say, I am by no means a fan of his, nor of the RF as a whole, but I can look at this particular issue from an objective point of view.

I think anyone who visits this site on a regular basis knows that there are posters whose 'dislike' (if you prefer that word) of Harry is patently obvious.

I doubt whether the majority of those who comment adversely hate either Prince Harry or his wife. It is more likely that they are unimpressed and dismayed by their actions and their words. I agree that some may feel that this is an understatement.

I certainly dislike betrayal and lies, that is not a love fest as I was accused of on this thread
