Buckingham Palace last night reacted angrily over the sale of sickening fake books about the King's cancer diagnosis written using artificial intelligence.

In an unprecedented statement, the Palace lambasted the sale of the 'intrusive' and 'insensitive' computer generated books that make false claims about the King's health, adding its lawyers are closely looking at the issue.

It came after an investigation by this newspaper the DM uncovered seven sham biographies being sold by the tech giant Amazon that falsely claim to share exclusive revelations about the King and appear on the site alongside best-selling legitimate royal biographies.

I’m far more concerned about the Fail’s awful brand of ‘journalism’.
Google it and see! Current stories Meghan and Harry, paedophile story and misogyny.
News is the Economy, Gaza, political corruption etc. They are a gossip column encouraging ignorance. Then they feign shock at this. Lazy and hypocritical.

Have people such short memories?

I'm not a Royalist by any means, but I wish the King well and agree that the use of AI to "write" these books is awful. As for the Daily Hate and it's brand of journalism? It's generally despicable. Divisive, hateful and aims to breed every form of spite and meanness it can. It should be confined to the tip, where it belongs. And for it's readers? Shame on you for being taken it by it.

I have to agree Frogoet. The Mail are absolutely dire and should be first against the wall when the revolution comes.
Pots and kettles with them, constantly. My daughter describes this rag as a mere comic. I no agree.

I agree!

It's good that they are taking this on, as they have the skills and resources to challenge the 'authorship'.

grumppa Tue 13-Feb-24 17:13:26

It's not just the Mail. For reasons best known to itself, my smart(?)phone is constantly headlining trashy Royal Family stories that feature in the Mirror and the Express. They're as bad as each other.

Anniebach Tue 13-Feb-24 17:28:56

Agree grumppa

Casdon Tue 13-Feb-24 17:43:44

The Express is actually by far the most prolific and most fanciful, they are obsessed with the royal family, and there are at least five or six ‘new’ stories about them every day on the website. I sometimes read it just for the laugh. 😆

yes, and in the telegraph and the times. check it out!

How long would these books have been on sale if the MoS hadn’t managed to uncover all this?

It's less than two weeks since the revelation of the King's cancer. Surely only a machine could produce these 'books' in so short a period. Even Amazon should have smelt a rat.

That is shocking, Amazon must withdraw these immediately.

Sadly, I think we can expect far more of this type of publication about all kinds of subjects in the future with the arrival of AI.

That AI was bound to cause problems and Amazon won't miss a chance to make more money.

We have a really good book called ‘Britain at War’which comprises photos collected by the Daily Mail. I think the constant snobby criticism of just about everything they do is not always justified and says more about the critics than what that particular group of journalists are guilty of. All newspapers, every single one of them, are ‘biased’.

Welcome JaysonTravis . Yes, the internet is becoming a scary place.

I find A1 dangerous, but the royals have always had to put up with idle curiosity and speculation.

If someone is ill, they should be left alone.

It’s the Mail that actually gets things done, don’t agree with everything but that’s life. This constant blaming of the Mail is
Easily solved, don’t buy it because you must be to know the content or us it just what someone told you about it.

Honestly why would anyone want to be a Royal these days?

But it’s so much bigger than being a Royal JenniferEccles how many books, presentations, newspaper pieces can be written completely falsely to divide the people, to encourage hatred, and to aid the particular persons aim and claim AND will be whole heartedly taken on board as gospel

icanhandthemback Wed 03-Apr-24 09:57:01

BlueBelle, how true. The other day I read a title which declared something damning whicht just made you want to read more only to find the actual text said something completely opposite! Only one version could be true.
