The biggest surprise in the by elections is that Reform UK trounced the Lib Dem’s!

My personal opinion is that many voters in the original Red Wall constituencies that switched to Conservative will now vote Reform. Obviously Reform is not going to win the election but hopefully a few seats, it's a new party, small acorns eventually grow into oak trees. It's hard to break the two party stronghold.

I agree Calistemon, I am angered by the grabbing of the Union flag by the right wing of politics, rather similar to the accusations of being unpatriotic which was thrown about on GN at those of us who voted to remain in the EU. It also has to be said that (to my mind anyway), that many of the out there figures of the right, people like Farage, Tice, come across as conmen and have all the trustworthiness of a second hand car dealer (with apologies to anyone in the car trade). This is a purely personal opinion

Up until 2007 our flag could only be flown on public buildings 18 days a year 😡

I think it's always wise to consider that we all have lives filled with all kinds of good and not so good time consuming incidents, and not everyone turns tail when asked a direct questioned.

Now that you have my attention I'm surprised that you didn't do a bit of a deeper dive on the items listed in the article your self, if only to counter my claim?

The lie was the repeating of a lie turned into a oft repeated slur against CO.

To be fair, that website is known for mis quoting and over emotional left leaning rhetoric or according to one critic 'telling people what they want to hear without many facts'
A more concise way of putting it is 'preaching to the converted'.
