I have my own theory about the allegations, based on three cases dealing with historical sex abuse. One the family is known to me and the case still unresolved after fifteen years because the accuser repeatedly refuses, at the last moment, to attend hearings; the accused was unable to work because he could not be police approved and is now unhappily retired. The other two cases were not known to me personally but both were figures in public life; both defendants considered guilty and traduced by the public, until both accusations were found to be fabricated and totally disproved.
In all cases, an estranged family member against another family member.

Reading some comments here just confirms the reasons victims find it so hard to speak out.

JaneJudge, thanks for posting the link. I’d read this earlier but my tech skills aren’t great. My understanding and experience of working with abuse against women, children and some men makes me reluctant to simply suggest the accusers here are malicious
