A Police Scotland spokesperson said: âThe matter remains active for the purposes of the Contempt of Court Act 1981 and the public are therefore advised to exercise caution if discussing it on social media.
I will be talking about it. And can cope with demonstrating caution. This absolutely links to the other thread on free speech. Be very careful who you hand the control of speech to. Oh and those who see themselves as the good guys may not be.

Does this rule apply to Scotland only or to all of the UK?
â Last year, Sir Iain Livingtone, Police Scotlandâs former chief constable, disclosed that the inquiry had âmoved beyondâ complaints that the ÂŁ600,000 had gone missing.
Asked why Operation Branchform was taking so long, he noted that investigations around âfraudâ, âpotential embezzlementâ and âthe misuse of fundsâ take a long time.â
Nicola Sturgeon said her husband Peter Murrell being charged by police in connection with embezzlement of funds from the SNP had been âincredibly difficultâ. (The Telegraph today)
When you think of it, Humza backed Murrell as a âclear winnerâ and gave him his full support. Mind you, he also believed his buddyâs story on the ÂŁ11,00p iPad roaming charge for âwork purposesâ! With judgement and clarity like thatâŠ..

The implication that Humza Yousaf is a poor leader because he supported other politicians in his party before he knew the truth about them, coming from those who donât live in Scotland, when the UK leadership has done exactly the same to MPs who transgress, and continues to do so. Iâve got no vested interest in Scotland, and I think itâs the people who live and vote there who should be critiquing Yousafâs leadership, on a thread thatâs about him preferably, not on a thread about somebody else who he had no part in appointing. Iâm probably on my own thinking like this.
Mr Yousef will be gleeful this happened yesterday as it took his major Uturn on climate policy right off the front pages. Does make one wonder if he had a hand in the timing. "The Scottish government has ditched its flagship target of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 75% by 2030 after accepting that it is now "out of reach".
Casdon I have any opinion on MOST things in life, donât you? And I donât live in the Middle East either but I notice those threads are full of opinions too!
I do of course, I just thought it was a strange thing to introduce to a thread about somebody else, when the state of the UK government leadership is as it is and has been. After all, with Murrell, Yousaf did what we would expect any leader to do?
Well so long as I (and others) know the rules. We are only allowed to post an opinion on events in the country we live in. Okay, thatâs clear (although I wasnât aware that the guidelines had changed, but I know now!)
Haha. We can and do post about anyone from any country at all Casdon and hopefully that will never change. You feel itâs unfair to Yousaf to lay any blame on him but thatâs a different matter. If only Scottish GN members were allowed to comment on this then by the same token, they couldnât comment on any English Welsh or NI politicians.
