puddycat simple.Westminster still holds over 70% of the powers over a "devolved" Scotland so they make many decisions that affect us north of the border.They collect all but a very small portion of taxes ,and spend it ON OUR BEHALF ...or so they say.If they just let go before they drain us dry as they did with other countries we'll be fine but they'll fight dirty to keep us as has been proven time after time.
It cant be a coincidence that the top posts in PoliceScotland are ALL held by English officers....appointed by Jack our colonial overseer in St Andrews house...you know the Tory that leads our civil service! Sturgeon made such a fuss about UK Prime Ministers not being elected via a general election then Humza gained office in the same way, surely they'll dissolve the assembly and have a Scottish election. Or their hippocrosy yet again defies belief.

guess Forbes would prefer not to take such a poisoned chalice at this stage with all the SNPs problems and a GE imminent. Better to let the party sink to whatever level after the GE, the new leader resigns and then take over and build from the new, lower base.

That probably leaves Swinney as the caretaker but he has so much personal and Sturgeon-associated negative baggage I doubt he will stem the tide towards Labour come the GE.

Can I point out, please, PuddyCat, that we have as much interest in the Westminster government as anyone else in the UK? It is a great pity that English devolution to the regions is taking so long.

Are Scottish politics a closed set for anyone outside of Scotland elegran? Not to be discussed or dissected? Only Westminster to be poured over and held to account? Why's that then?

Leave it to the Scottish electorate to worry about Humza's successor, the whole UK electorate (and many outside the UK) will be affected by the infighting in Westminster. Distracting them by making great play of a change of leadership in devolved Scotland won't make any difference to that.

Distraction and deflection are the main tools of the SNP, well done for demonstrating them both.

There’s no reason at all that Scottish SNP supporters or even just Scottish GN members should try and stop those who live outside Scotland from commenting on Scottish politics, especially such a big step of changing leaders.
From what I’ve read Humza Youssuf hasn’t done all that well but he was championed by Nicola Sturgeon for the top job, hmmm.

Let's hope he goes. Trouble is whoever replaces him will have to get the seal of approval from the ghastly Greens - so the tail will continue to wag the dog

News outlets widely reporting that he is to resign imminently. Who will take over from him? I honestly don't know who I would prefer - but definitely not Forbes.
