What exactly is the purpose of it?

GNHQ must be getting on top of it because I haven't seen any today.

Smileless they were choking the site at half five this morning and we're cleared by the back of seven

I reported 9 before 6.30 this morning!

They`ve started on AIBU

Oh for goodness sake! It’s gone from two to seven spam threads in just a few minutes!

I don’t understand how they’ve able to access GN but is there nothing more HQ can do to prevent it?

Why can’t GN be more proactive? These spam posts are instantly recognisable

They have done something, though I don't know what. The spam was arriving at intervals of about one minute, but there have been none for nearly 10 minutes.

I’m reporting them , but not posting on the threads

Please say "reported" than we know we don't have to aggie

But that puts them up the page , I don’t think too many reports matter , I’ve not been told to stop

Anyway I think that the moderators are doing what they can , they are working against a mindless machine

I reported one but wasn’t sure whether to put reported in the comments. As you say though NS I wasn't to know if had already been done.

One thing GN could do is limit the length of post title. All these spam ones have very long titles!

Just report: if we put report it just bumps it up.

Aggie, once you see it has 2 posts you can hide it and go by.
If we all reported and didn't say something each post could be reported by dozens of us.
If there is only one reported comment they will soon drop down.
