Do you think the hostages have access to medical care?
Good Morning Thursday 7th May 2026
Are you irritating in RL? (light hearted)
No surprise there.
It has been obvious for months
Do you think the hostages have access to medical care?
With no access to medical care
One man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter. Remembering Nelson Mandela, Desmond tutu ,and certainly more than one israeli president…..et al.
From the very early days of israel 75 years ago , there was violence and bombings by israeli terrorists towards the British army which is precisely the reason why the British left in a hurry, leaving a mess which has yet to be resolved.
For every one Israeli killed, about 30 palestinians , mostly women and children have also been killed. Are palestinian lives worth so little. They have lost everything, their homes, belongings, loved ones, have been pushed from end to end of Gaza with access to medical care, food, water, energy , shelter; these are people just like us and this is being done to them by a democratic state which so rarely follows international laws.
I’m unsure why Netanyahu has offered to release hundreds of prisoners in exchange for some of the hostages initially, followed by the same pattern later on.
Because Israel routinely imprisons Palestinians it knows have no connection with terrorism. These people are never tried but simply held in prison. You might wonder why. Then you realise that they are a bargaining tool.
The number held has always been high, but it has increased substantially since 7/10
In the weeks since 7 October, the number of people in administrative detention - already at a 30-year high of 1,300 - has shot up to more than 2,800

Most terrorists are. I can’t think of a single case where a terrorists are not.
And yet you continue to castigate only one side, hmmm.
Oh dear! The clue is in the terms.
Terrorists are outside any civilised law or control. So criticism of their actions are pointless, and I would have thought did not need stating.
Israel is a state and subject to national and international law.
All states are open to criticism if their behaviour falls below expected standard.
So on Oct. 7 a terrorist organisation committed the sort of crimes we have come to expect from such outfits. World condemnation confirmed the horror reaped on Israeli citizens. Israel rightly claimed the right to defend itself.
But in all conflict proportionality is a key in strategy and expectation.
Israel have gone far beyond this concept of acceptable behaviour and I will continue to criticise Israel for as long as this carnage/genocide continues.
If the terrorists decide to comply, I dread to think what those young women who are hostages will have to tell us. All the hostages will require substantial therapy to overcome the trauma and torture they have endured.

It’s premature for us to talk of acceptance or not. The devil is in the detail and both sides will study it carefully.
Exactly.

“The right of Israeli politics are authoritarian and hard line. No question.”
Hamas are just as hard line, uncompromising terrorists.
It makes the conduct of the war hardline and genocidal.

BN and close allies are right wing but that doesn’t make them or their decisions wrong in this war against hamas.
It’s their choice not Biden’s or ours in how to accept or decline plans put forward by other countries.
Just as Hamas wouldn’t /couldnt trust Israel either.
At least they have said they will accept this latest effort for peace snd its the Israeli regime which won’t agree.

Listened to the plan, it will be accepted by Hamas as long as it leads to a permanent ceasefire but on news today it was said the right wingers in Netanyahu won't accept it ie Smotrich, Ben-Givr etc. They want the war to continue.
Biden recognised this in his speech.
The hard right are the reason this war has gone on for so long and so viciously.Oh really?!
Nothing to do with hamas then? Or their outrageous demands and their keeping so many hostages and not wanting to release them!
Well ask Biden - he certainly thinks that that is the case. And I think you will find that commentators would agree. The right of Israeli politics are authoritarian and hard line. No question.

It seems the proposal is not a total Withdrawl Israel want to withdraw from the populated areas, which means they will be establishing secure bases within Gaza. That gives them the ability to respond quickly to any situation they don’t like, I don’t expect Hamas to agree to that.

I pray they will negotiate, hostages home please
Israel, supported by Biden, have put forward a new peace deal. Let’s see if Hamas are prepared to negotiate.

The original post is not true. The prosecutor has asked the court for warrants but the court has not yet decided his application. I'm not sure that attempting to prosecute leading politicians before, for example, peace negotiations have been started and concluded is a good idea. It may cause them to prolong hostilities.
The OP says "seeks" arrest warrants. That means asks for. It is quite true.

On the other hand, re strikes on 26th May
"“Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says airstrike on Rafah which killed dozens was 'tragic mistake’”
This was a displaced persons area which people had been told to go to.
