I think a new party will absolutely emerge in the next few years, although of course they are notoriously difficult to sustain. Whether it will come from him I am not sure.

I've opened it a dozen times and after about 15 seconds the big box opens and hides the article. By the time I find my place again I only get a few sentences in before I have to shut down again. Never mind, I despise the man so not that interested in any party he'd start.

He’s right about one thing, FPTP will stymie any chance of it getting off the ground anytime soon and the next Labour government are unlikely to introduce a voting system detrimental to themselves.

No it's ok you didn't confuse me I just wondered how I could see it and others couldnt.
Whether people like him or not he is the type of person who could possibly succeed. He reminds me of Elon Musk a bit.

The word that immediately comes to mind is 'hubris'

Cummings thinks he is far more important and significant than he really is and also has the hubris to think he knows more about the electorate than he does.

The party he is planning is to the right of the current Conservatives although not as in your face as Reform, but Farage is a far more astute political operator than Cummings and will chew him up like the potato crisp he is.

Apart from anything else read what he says about the war in Ukraine. Yes, Ukraine is a highly corrupt country, but it is a country that has been invaded by a neighbour whose only aim is territorial expansion - and that is totally unacceptable in this modern world whether the Ukrains is corrupt or a model of transparent democracy. Ukraine is the first domino. If Ukraine falls, how safe are Georgia, Moldavia, Estonia, Lithiania, Latvia.

Cummings complete misunderstanding of our suppor for Ukraine shows just what an arrogant and stupid man he is.

Judging by the number of expletives in his dialogue - I'd say he's not the only one who can't communicate.

As MOnica says - this individual believes his own hype - he's not quite as important as he thinks he is.

Oh I'm sure he'll catch a few fish, but not the majority he'd need. I think people find him rather odious and unpleasant. Always looks as if he's about to snarl at someone.

I'm not sure that I would agree with that, MOnica. Cummings proved himself to be a very good manipulator who knew just the right tools to use to manipulate voters. He played a very instrumental role in obtaining the Leave vote for the campaign he worked for by exploiting the technology of Cambridge Analytica and the use of 'dark' advertising on social media. Of course he twas then on the same 'side as Farage. It would be interesting to see them in opposition.

OTOH he lacks the 'human touch' which Farage undoubtedly has; unless he could find another high profile useful idiot like Johnson to front his party I think that voters would be put off by his arrogant distaste for the greater part of the human race.

They’re both far more dangerous than most people give them credit for which is one reason why they achieve so much. Someone that was a combination of both of them would be a terrifying prospect; the stuff of nightmares.

I think I agree with you.

Quite a few people seem to 'relate' to Farage - the sort of bloke you can have a pint with in the pub kind of thing.

But Cummings is a smooth-operator, very shrewd - he's learned a lot (during his sojourn in Russia?) and although he appears to hold the majority of the human race in contempt apart from weirdos and misfits (I suppose it takes one to recognise the other), he might be able to impress those who believe in 'Brexit opportunities' and have a distaste for all those he's already condemned to obscurity.

Not sure he'll go down well in the Shires - his couth needs a bit of refining.
