I would not vote Conservative, but I don't trust Labour not to open the floodgates to yet more people who really don't like us and want to do us harm. Who to vote for - any ideas?

I completely agree. Imagine if we referred to other groups as “Gay Nonsense” or “Autistic Nonsense”

I have no idea how it can be done if someone disappears into the black economy. Where do you start looking when they have moved to another address and are not paying tax? You can’t tag them like criminals.”

Maybe we could! Maybe technology is so good we could “microchip” them, with the dates of the visa expiry in it, which could then “magically” activate the chip and we can catch them 😂😂😂😂 Now back to the real world!

I also agree mumofmadboys.

Next time Sunak is on tv or radio, why don’t you listen, wwm? The cost of the main parties’ plans will be under the microscope in the coming weeks. I have never taken Sunak for a liar.

Why don’t you all read the manifestos and listen to the leaders with an open and enquiring mind ? I hope we have some debates. Sunak was saying this morning that those of Labour’s plans which have so far been unveiled will cost every taxpayer an additional £2k pa. That’s a lot of money.

But is it true?

Labour always gets in where I live, which gives me a sort of freedom to vote how I wish (as I don’t have to vote tactically to keep the Tories out). I shall probably vote Green.

I'm voting Conservative even though I dislike the leadership and have very little faith in the party, plus my local MP is a useless twat obsessed with flag waving. I can't bring myself to vote Labour no matter what I think of the Tories. Nor will I respond to any baiting by the Labour voters on here, I'm an adult, I know what I'm doing and have no interest in discussing it further.

That’s entirely your right.

Well Cossy, I don’t have a problem with controlled migration provided people don’t disappear when their visas expire. Rwanda is starting to prove that it’s a deterrent but Starmer would stop it and have some sort of beefed up Border Force, which as I have posted before Border Force officials say will do nothing at all to stop the boats. Oh, and he wants to talk with Europe despite 15 European countries having signed up to wanting something along the lines of Rwanda. There is far more chance of ‘my’ party stopping the boats than Labour.

I’d really rather the Rwanda cash had been spent trying to catch/stop all the people traffickers, ditto the French cash too. If it acts as a deterrent, and works and if we were certain those sent there would be entirely safe (Rwanda govt wise) and have a chance to bring families if they have them, I wouldn’t be quite so against the idea, I’m not sure though that the processing of applications over there in Rwanda is right either. Sadly I think it’s the people Traffickers who will continue to thrive and benefit and just find other ways to get people here dangerously and illegally.

I want to see these boats stop as much as you do, perhaps for different reasons. I support controlled immigration. I also support the right of refugees to seek asylum.

I live in a Lib Dem constituency and intend to continue voting Lib Dem.
Labour would need to get off the fence and admit that Brexit was a disaster before they got any support from me.
And until this country stops selling arms to warring countries it is in no position to complain about refugees.

I'm not sure either.
I think I'm going to write each of the leaders names on pieces of paper, shut my eyes and pull one out.

Not sure that GSM has a party of her own.

Let's not get personal on here.

I'd love to see a coalition.

Fair enough. Poor choice of words.

I’d only like a coalition if it was three way

Labour
Lib Dem
Green

Millie22 Thu 23-May-24 13:55:10

Absolutely no idea but I always vote as women died in order that we could.

Sunak was not elected and Keir Starmer isn't actually sure about what a woman is. What to do 🤔

midgey Thu 23-May-24 13:46:57

The borders of my constituency have changed and I have read that the MP of the old constituency is a young Tory who works extremely hard and has done some very good work…..but….. So I have no idea who to vote for.

Luckygirl3 Thu 23-May-24 13:24:21

It is very simple for me - I will vote for whichever candidate stands the best chance of getting rid of the sitting Tory.

YorkLady Thu 23-May-24 13:20:15

I’m undecided too. Can we have a box that states “None of the above” 🙄
