Tories 77 resignations, Labour 22 but no short notice shocks!
If anything says Sunak’s announcement was a shock, the high profile Tory MPs who have just resigned make it clearly so. With less than 6 weeks to go, local Tory parties have to find, interview and appoint new MPs and convince everyone they have the constituents interests at heart. Rats and sinking ships springs to mind!!!

There's got to be a case for a proper "None of the above" box on our ballot papers now so we can register a "No" vote for the actual candidates listed.

Saying we can just spoil our paper to register a dissatisfaction with the candidates available to us is childish and not the answer 😠

We need new life injected into politics in this country. Representatives with some radical new ideas and with more integrity.
We are all exhausted from listening to the same old same old
diatribe from the two main parties. I welcome their extinction and the formation of something more exciting.

I’m all for more integrity but what do you think these new radical ideas should be?

One radical idea would be to stop navel gazing about the internal state of any particular political party and to start running the country. To connect with the people and the real problems facing the Uk now is too much to ask?

Sorry MayBee70. I am not in a position to bring new ideas to the table -that is what we elect and pay our politicians to do.

You need a strong opposition of whatever shade. It is really not good for any country to have a huge majority government where they can just do whatever they want. If Labour get a huge majority it will not be a good thing for anyone. Same applies the other way, too.
