My thoughts as some others of us were that the mother is somehow captive and therefore the baby needed to be left somewhere no camera could catch the event. After all if it's a man dumping the baby (which it would be if the mother is captive) then that would immediately trigger police investigations. Under those circumstances even one of those left baby cubbies wouldn't work for them.

It’s unlikely, but it could also be much more mundane. A couple with lots of children already, living on the breadline and unable to afford any more, religion preventing contraception. The truth will out in this case I think, eventually.
I’ve learned my lesson from the two recent stabbings where everybody assumed there were mental health issues and there weren’t, not to always look for reasons which excuse the woman/girl.

I doubt a family with religious convictions that ban contraception would abandon their children.

I seem to remember an episode of Long Lost Family about abandoned babies - 2 people who had been abandoned contacted the programme separately and discovered they were full siblings. They went on to discover another baby had been abandoned and there were other babies who had stayed with the parents. One of the children who had stayed commented that the children who hadn't were the lucky ones

The only spark here is that the plan is for the children to know each other, so they will not be alone in.what happened to.them.

Only a thought, being as we're playing around with storylines here. What happens if the mother is here illegally?. Is a hospital birth avoided?

Perhaps the mother has special needs?

eddiecat78 There were a few episodes of Long Lost Family on abandoned babies, absolutely heartbreaking, but then so amazing when they find close family through DNA. I think there is a new series starting Monday, a young woman who was left at a railway station.

These three babies have an advantage because the authorities already know they are related unlike the older ones. And the DNA searches will be ongoing, looking for a match.

If a baby was born through incest or outwith marriage l think they very much would be likely to abandon them.
