For those of you who think Angela Rayner is common and not a lady, how about this from Boris Johnson.

As well as the racist connotations of the name change (and don’t forget Mrs. Starmer is Jewish), I find the rest of the words quoted by the mail in their headline quite offensive.

I wouldn’t have expected anything less from Johnson but it’s now all too obvious that the Tory policies just enabled the fat cats to get fatter.

PS I rate Mordaunt as next Tory leader

The bad blood also rests upon Starmer's patient courtroom game of goading Johnson, week after week, to repeat the lie about Downing Street parties in the House of Commons until the lie finally had to be owned and Johnson could no longer cling on.

I am Not a Fan of The Conservatives
But in all Fairness Angela Rayner is No Saint.
Her Language is Appalling ,
I attended one of her speeches ,
While leaving she was speaking to some of her fellow councillors not aware that people could hear she came out with language l hadn’t even heard used in the Forces.

That's good coming from BoJo when his father is a woman hater and wife beater!

Absolute prat he is! I bet when he was in hospital with Covid and some of the medics were Jewish he wouldn't have dared made such vile remarks .... because they could have unplugged him at any time!

deedeedum Sun 16-Jun-24 11:28:38

You think Johnson has moved on, well "dream on." I read somewhere that his wife Carrie was a "victim" of the taxi driver, can't recall his name currently gaoled, seeking parole, who Starmer decided not to prosecute for additional offences.

Danma Sun 16-Jun-24 11:38:18

I think you could have just omitted the last three words from the title of this thread 😉

Loume Sun 16-Jun-24 11:41:58

I ditto your reply.

I think if Prime Ministers from history were examined in the minute detail that the media, social and otherwise, afford us today, we would find many instances of bad behaviour, corruption and rotten personal morality. So too with American Presidents or indeed anyone in power! I am not surprised at all that it is still the case. I am waiting for the next shock horror revelations about this current crop, none of whom to me actually fits the picture of a leader who is able enough and dynamic enough to fix the managed decline of our country.

It’s horrifying that people want starmer as their pm quite frankly .
You were happy enough when boris bit you your vaccine first tho wernt you !
As for angels common as muck Rayner ,I just switch her off .

Starmer will be a great PM because he is not of that wealthy, elitist class of people running the country, he got a scholarship yes but that doesn't make him one of the toffs just a very bright guy. Ditto Rayner who also knows what real life is.

Boris did not get us the vaccine but he paid the people who did which is not a particularly skilled task

Boris headlines get more and more dramatic the more ignored he is, he thrives on attention.

Never could stand Johnson but I've just watched the Rise and Fall of Boris Johnson on Channel 4 and have decided he is even worse than I previously thought.

Goldieoldie15 Sun 16-Jun-24 13:00:59

It never ceases to amaze me that so many are still surprised by what this dangerous self serving clown does or says. Wake up! He lied to the country he lied to the parliament and lied to HM the Queen. But hey we’ve got Brexit! Look around you and rejoice. Just look at the queues at Dover at the airports and the long promised extended border checks. But main thing we’ve got £350m a week for the NHS and such like. And of course our sovereignty! Ha ha ha!!!

Peston is well known for his hatred of Boris Johnson and known to twist things against him. Apparantly Boris used to have a relationship with Pestons partner!, can’t trust the media , especially ITV. totally biased against conservatives , I wish I could find a news outlet that is unbiased so I can make my own mind up

It isn't true that he had a relationship with Peston's partner unless you think grabbing and groping someone constitutes them as your partner, let alone doing this to a work colleague.

He is a disgrace

That sounds quite likely, the Tories seem to think we’ll put up with any old Prime Minister they care to foist on us!

Absolutely

I don't undertand how he seems to be getting away with a blatantly antisemitic slur (Schnorrer). If anybody else did that, people would be up in arms.

Reminds me of something I read today. The thrown in Labour candidate for Clacton, his name escapes me , I'm pleased to say, seen on twitter saying, "my favourite drink is white man's tears". Isn't that just hateful too.

I don’t know much about the law but I assume it was Starmers job to decide if there was enough evidence to try to prosecute someone and, if there wasn’t there was no point wasting time and money pursuing it? Imo that’s his approach to politics, too. Choose your policies wisely; make sure you can follow through with what you say you’ll do.

His name is Jovan Owusu-Nepaul and the only reference I can find about it Freya is something Nigel Farage as said about him in the independent

Thought about this a lot as it's a fair question. Only tiny numbers of rape allegations get to court they are so complex and time consuming.

It's fair to assume that the CPS decided that they had a strong enough conviction and sentencing for the offender to be locked away safely for a very long time. It was the parole board that overturned it.

Hindsight is great and now we all I am sure wish that additional offences should have been prosecuted. But that would also have meant that the CPS had less time to prosecute current rape cases leaving more victims without justice. A hard call.

Absolutely agree. Always reminded me of ‘Emporer’s New Clothes’. It’s amazing what people will believe.

ruthiek Sun 16-Jun-24 14:38:35

Also Peston hates Johnson as he used to be in a relationship with Preston’s partner

Germanshepherdsmum Sun 16-Jun-24 14:54:53

The real time is put in by the police gathering evidence Wyllow, rather than the CPS.

Cossy Sun 16-Jun-24 15:03:31

There’s a ton of cases where once someone is convicted and put away for a long time, it comes to light that other offences were not prosecuted, not great for individual victims but I guess there are good reasons for this, perhaps costs and time of court cases? I’m Amy event it’s not unusual.

Wyllow3 Sun 16-Jun-24 15:10:13

I imagined they would work closely together? Considerable time spent by both?
