We live on a plot behind other houses and the drive leads from the lane, between other houses and up to us so she had no alternative. We're very rural

I just had a (tiny) delivery from someone who drove into our drive whilst I sat outside in my car waiting to come in... She left it on the doorstep, drove out and then drove into next door's drive to deliver something there!

That sounds like our postman. He moves his van to every house, could so easily deliver a few on foot and make a bigger move. Hey ho!

I had an eek 😧 moment when our Tory MP was out last week delivering leaflets - he’d disappeared by the time I realised who it was! Trust me, he’s the one who had a lucky escape🤬

I was collared by our Labour candidate yesterday, lovely local girl who tried to persuade me that Labour at Westminster is a different kettle of fish to Welsh Labour in Cardiff…🤔

I’m waiting for Plaid Cymru to doorstep me with justification of their pledge to decriminalise ‘soft’ drugs 🫨

They’re all really trying their best to stop me voting aren’t they!

I would love a Labour candidate to knock on my door. He’d wish he hadn’t. No chance though, everyone votes Conservative here.

Generally, I would be courteous to any candidate at the door, even if our views did not align.
I'd make an exception for Ms Truss.

I canvass, and most people are very pleasant to talk to, no matter what their political opinions, and some actually thank you for taking the trouble to listen to them.

I’d like any of our prospective candidates to knock on our door. None ever do. We’re lucky if we get a leaflet. We got just the one leaflet during the recent local elections. It was for the LibDems. The other parties didn’t think we were even worth a leaflet. The same is happening now, no leaflets, and certainly no one canvassing.

It isn't that political parties think you are not worth canvassing, it is more likely a lack of volunteers to distribute information; budgets are very tight, so postage is a huge expense.

Perhaps you could volunteer to help?

I’m always polite too, but I would put a Labour canvasser on the spot with some questions they couldn’t answer. I’m glad I’m not in Liz Truss’s constituency - Lord knows how I’d vote.

Just before the election was announced I bumped into our MP in a car park. We were chatting and I suddenly realised who he was. I told him he'd better stop talking to me as he'd blocked me on Facebook and wouldn't read my emails. He assured me that it would have been one of his staff and asked to write to him personally and we could discuss things. I haven't written because I expect he's a bit busy at the moment. It's a shame because he's actually very nice and is doing a lot of things I'm in favour. I just don't know how he ended up as a Tory MP.

We've had one leaflet so far It's a Tory one, just the same as the ones they produced for every previous recent election, whether for Westminster, Holyrood or the local council. Nothing at all about their plans or proposals, just "Vote for Me as the only way to beat the SNP". Pathetic!

I would always be polite to any candidate (Farage & Truss being exceptions) and ask pertinent questions. They are putting themselves forward to run the country. Something that I have neither the inclination nor the courage to do.

We’ve never had a candidate knock on our door yet - ever, so I’m not holding my breath that it will be any different this time.

My sister lives in Liz Lettuce’s constituency and she was canvassing with some of her aides in her street. When an aide knocked at her door she hid behind the sofa.

It amazes me that she shows her face, as though she had done nothing wrong.
