I read that Michelle Obama has the highest ratings of any American and could easily gain more votes than Trump but unfortunately, she has no interest in a presidency.
US troops forced to act on the ground?
A well conducted interview with these two candidates for President. Much, much better than any interviews our mob put on here. The future of America is in one of their hands. God help them. Both slagging each other off on a personal level, one of them lost the plot half way in and both lying through their teeth. Starmer and Sunak are a couple of pleasant, courteous gentlemen compared with them.

She knows too much about what it entails, I would think, Macadia.
A pity, because I'm sure she would romp home.

Yes, they are, aren't they.
He is so intelligent and experienced but I fear his best days are gone.
Apart from the memory issues, it’s hardly encouraging when Joe himself admits he has been ‘exhausted’.
It must be exhausting for anyone, but to hear a candidate admitting it….
He’s been a great public servant and a good President. Of course only a medic can diagnose what ails him but the world can see he’s unwell. Not physically fit enough to work as President. Maybe if he was Mr Putin it would matter less as despots don’t need to debate or appear in public answering questions.
Here is a summary of the options from the FT
Who could replace him — and how?
Some Democrats fear Biden’s withdrawal would trigger a civil war within a party that includes progressive and moderate wings, blue-collar voters and Wall Street donors, and is riven by racial and class politics.
Biden could try to avoid this by endorsing Harris. But donors prefer Michigan governor Gretchen Whitmer, Pennsylvania governor Josh Shapiro — both popular leaders in swing states — and California governor Gavin Newsom, who has been building his national profile in recent months.
Harris has a standing advantage: she already has national name recognition and easier access to Biden’s campaign money. She would also have the backing of influential Democrats such as James Clyburn, who helped deliver Black voters for Biden in 2020.

A very interesting interview.
Have just seen coverage of POTUS Biden at NATO yesterday on the news.
He introduced President Zelensky as President Putin
He referred to his Vice President Kamala Harris as Vice President Trump
I am beginning to feel extremely sorry for him.
Elder abuse by his family who could talk him into retiring but instead wanted him to continue as puppet president, for whatever dubious reason.
I’ve just read news reports summarised by GrannnyG13 above. How can Biden continue ? Trump will win the presidency, surely the Democrats don’t want that
Seems that the Democrats are a giving the Republicans and POTUS Trump a free ride straight to the Whitehouse.
It does and who is asking why (apart from a few British grannies)
I’m a bit younger than Biden and exhibiting many of the same frailties, I recognize I’m getting older and don’t have the instant recall I used to have, I forget names with no logical reason. I’ve had my day trying to influence others, now I just watch them making the mistakes I made
The difference is I don’t want to be President!.

Other world leaders must be bemused and wonder how he's managing to continue unchallenged by his advisers and those around him.
They will be too polite to say so publicly .
That was a massive error to introduce Zelensky as Putin. It's time he handed over the reins to Kamala. Unfortunately he will deteriorate further as time goes on.

Those were HUGE mistakes especially as he was standing at a podium on the world stage and Zelensky was standing right next to him. The look on all their faces must have been awful.
Feel sorry for him? Not at all. He could stand down any time he chooses. He says he will keep fighting the fight and won't stand down. What is wrong with the man, has he watched himself on TV? If he still has any marbles left then he has the ability to decide whether to keep on or not. He must have a power complex, like these 90 year olds who keep driving and won't hand their licence in until they have a terrible accident.
I blame his wife. She ought to do the equivalent of taking away the car keys, and grab the keys to the Oval Office.
But no….
“You were great Joe, you answered all the questions….!”

Very much an issue in the US - I went to check out on CNN

The worrying thing is that Biden’s problems might well open the door wide to Trump.
I thought Zelensky coped with Biden’s terrible blunder magnificently. He laughed. He could have been extremely offended given the situation.
I’ve just watched Biden on the BBC news and he says he thinks he is the most qualified person to run for, and be, the President.
You couldn’t make it up!
There's a lot of questions about Biden's cognitive abilities but he is, at least, experienced on the political scene.
Trump's mental state has been deteriorating for a long time, as can be seen from watching any of his rallies.
He has been rambling for many years, seemingly unable to construct sentences or any coherent thoughts.
I find it incomprehensible that anyone would consider he is acceptable, or morally fit, as a leader.
I do think Americans need to rethink the candidates from both parties.
I agree flump
Apparently Biden was on top of everything in the lengthy discussions but these embarrassing faux pas in public are very worrying indeed.
As for Trump, well, can't add more really.
I don't understand why there is no method of removing a President from office if he is unable to carry out the duties required of him.
Strange how Starmer said he was perfectly lucid during discussions, but maybe that indicates his mental faculties are coming and going. One moment he thinks clearly and the next he goes to pieces. That is good reason for stepping down.

Biden is still capable . He talked in depth about the problems with China and Russia as well as other topics that Trump doesn’t have the bandwidth nor the desire to understand . Biden has had 4 years of a successful presidency and the experience that comes with that .
