Vote leave champion Dyson now has announced the company is cutting 1000 jobs in the U.K., moving this part of the operation to Singapore. Singapore has a trade deal with the EU, funny that. Dyson also lives in Singapore. Nothing to do with new government - this decision was made months ago and Dyson was critical of the Sunak administration. Another Brexit bonus?

I had an early Dyson vacuum cleaner.. it was the worse vacuum cleaner I have had in 64 years of married life. It was a real nuisance to empty as the filter became dirty as I did it. Other problems with roller etc. In the end it gave out sparks at which point I did some research and followed the Good House Keeping guide and replaced it with a Sebo which has been the best I have ever owned. At the time,of my research I rang John Lewis and was told that some people were lucky with Dyson and others not. The lady I spoke to said she was not allowed to recommend a particular manufacturer but she had a Sebo as they were using them to clean the store. This was years ago and my Sebo is upstairs cleaning the bedrooms etc while a recently purchased new Sebo is strutting its stuff downstairs with its useful light which reveals everything I might not have seen before. My dh has been no fan of Dyson since he moved business to Singapore. You don’t hear anything about his washing machines which were expensive, touted as wonderful and disappeared off the scene.

The Animal one I have upstairs is very good but it is heavy to use as I have a dodgy shoulder.
As I can't lug it upstairs and down, we have a rechargeable one and a cylinder one downstairs.

They did send me a new battery (no charge) for the rechargeable one even though it was out of warranty.

I'd like to know the reasoning behind this decision.
