Couldn't agree more Grantanow - particularly the women.
What colour car do you have or did you used to drive?
........but it would have been more impressive if "Our God" had prevented the assassination attempt in the first place.
Just where was he when the would-be assassin pulled the trigger?
Couldn't agree more Grantanow - particularly the women.
Let's hope God saves the world from Trump.
"In a statement Thursday, the FBI said, “Since the day of the attack, the FBI has been consistent and clear that the shooting was an attempted assassination of former President Trump which resulted in his injury, as well as the death of a heroic father and the injuries of several other victims."
"The FBI’s Shooting Reconstruction Team continues to examine evidence from the scene, including bullet fragments, and the investigation remains ongoing,” the statement added." NBC news
Yes, the FBI is in Trump's sights - he cant bear an independent investigative service operating.

Trump is furious. I can't actually see the difference between hit by shrapnel caused by a bullet and a bullet itself - both assassination attempts.
But to have escaped death from a bullet by a hairsbreadth is a far more dramatic 'miracle' narrative than one of escaping a bullet which went somewhere near him.
I wonder if anyone actually found the bullet?
But when Trump becomes president he's going to get rid of the FBI, isn't he? Project 2025...

well you can be sure that the FBI won't be taking the 'God saved him theory' seriously Callistemon.. it's always very dodgy where Trump is concerned..

So now the FBI are casting doubts on whether he was hit by a bullet or not.. He is certainly a genuine showman and opportunist..
Well, it was reported that he was hit by a sharp piece of plastic which flew up and caught his ear.
The question no-one seems to be asking is:
If the bullet just skimmed Trump's ear where did it go then?
There were a lot of people standing right behind him and none of them were hit by the bullet as far as I know.
So now the FBI are casting doubts on whether he was hit by a bullet or not.. He is certainly a genuine showman and opportunist..

Apparently a sign of true love.
I think it is keeping the loose screw in.
Spot on.
He was aiming his talk at the Bible Belt of America. His behaviour is certainly not moral.

In my opinion Trump is a psychopath and narcissist
He cares for nobody but himself he has no empathy, compassion or respect for anyone else, the biggest mystery to me is how his wife can stay with himIn your opinion. Well did you defend Biden against those saying he has dementia, you can't say that, but you can say Trump is a narcissist and a Psychopath. Well you can't say that either. Have you an insight to his medical notes. I can't stand either Biden or Trump, what America does is up to them. We certainly have more than enough to deal with in the UK.
If Lammy, and some others in the Labour party are anything to go by, we certainly won't be at the top of his list anyway. Any more insults and he'll be sending our Diplomats back home.Judging by Trumps choice of running mate insults obviously don’t bother him. Didn’t Johnson say nasty things about him at one time as well and yet he’s now saying what a great president he’s going to be.

Yes, he did - when he was Mayor I believe. He accused Trump of "stupefying ignorance". As did Vance - suggested that Trump might be America's "Hitler".
I'm not surprised that Johnson said what he did - he frequently appears to say the first thing that comes into his head - and later, if reproached on it, just grins inanely as if it's nothing to do with him. But I would've thought Vance more 'sober' or thoughtful in his pronouncements - however, as he's just equated Britain with Iran and Pakistan Islamist states - maybe not.
Here in the UK, I prefer the pre-Johnson era of politics when Labour and Tory slugged it out with each other but only occasionally made outrageous remarks.
I'd rather not think about what's going on in America - and all against a backdrop of possible maniacs with guns - apparently Thomas Crook had images of other high-profile figures on his computer, along with Trump and Biden, and even an un-named member of the Royal Family! Go figure (as they say in the US)!
Just checked out - both Fox News and CNN are investigating motive, the "why's" and background of Crooks as a "lone shooter" incident, and raising questions how was it able to happen, Secret Service wise.
I think many of us would like to know how on earth Thomas Crooks a 20y (supposedly single handedly) outsmarted the entire Secret Service detail.

The thing is, the German people were demoralised after WWI and were looking for a leader to make them feel great again. So I can understand why they turned to Hitler. But America has always been a great nation. I’m not aware of them being in a Great Depression over the past few years. So why are many Americans desperate for someone to make America great again? Surely, by saying he’s going to make the country great again he’s saying that it isn’t
?
The US has massive inequalities in income distribution and areas of extreme deprivation. It has embraced the economic ideology which distribute wealth upwards to the already wealthy, which exacerbates this.
We have seen the effects of a similar situation in the UK.
I'm not sure what constitutes 'greatness' in a nation but whatever it is, it's clear that a large number of US citizens don't think the US has it any more and are willing to follow the man who says he'll restore it...
Personally I have found it difficult to see the USA as 'great' for many years now.
But the people at his rallies who gaze adoringly at him don’t look poor and deprived: quite the opposite.

Hi flappergirl. It was the evening her husband had died, and what she said was that she wasn't political, but she felt her (Republican) husband would not have wanted her to talk to Biden.
In those circumstances, I felt it was understandable. (We don't know who else she did or didn't want to talk to.) I honestly can't put myself in her shoes to know what I'd have wanted - such a ghastly day.
As regards Trump, I would welcome people who support him saying "why".
Good point - if she felt that her husband, who'd only died hours previously, wouldn't want her to talk to Biden - one has to respect that.
I think also that one has to realise that the way American politics are 'conducted' are quite different to the way we do ours - and we don't have a President. Their conventions and rallies seem less like political campaigning - more like showtime... a big build-up to the final act where the star performer is almost a celebrity, cult-like figure.
Who can forget the warm-up performance by Hulk Hogan ripping off his shirt?!
By comparison our party conferences seem quite tame low-key affairs.
I also noticed that, in spite of the often heated exchanges between our two main party leaders, Sunak was very gracious in his resignation speech, and Starmer was gracious about Sunak whom he called "a decent man".
The two cultures are entirely different - America does it big and loud - we are a bit more restrained.
Long may it stay that way.
She should be able to speak or not speak to whoever she likes without being labelled stupid. That's a minimum level of decency in my view.
Goodness Arto1s, we might have a " broken country" but generally we don't call people with whom we disagree " ignoramuses " or, in Trump terms " losers". I am glad that you are happy in your chosen country. Maybe some of us are happy to live in our country, too, however poorly you think of it.
She spoke to Josh Shapiro - a democratic governor.

I don't see that at all Willow. I'm a Labour voter but under similar circumstances I would most certainly accept a call from Rishi Sunak or even Boris Johnson. I would recognise and acknowledge it as a gracious and thoughtful act.
I would obviously understand if the call had been from a figure such as Adolph Hitler or Stalin or some other monstrous dictator whom my husband had died opposing.

I’ve seen Biden being coherent, I’ve also seen him incoherent, which with his increasingly frail physical presentation is worrying. Trump is incoherent, he rambles and goes off topic. His showman technique masks some of that.
Biden has been a good President. He needs to step away with dignity. He can’t beat Trump and the longer it’s left the more difficult it will be for the candidate
What’s the problem with Kamala Harris
