Vote once and never vote again

What a strange thing for Donald Trump to say at his Christian rally. He said if they vote for him, it will be fixed so they never vote again. Why would anyone vote for THAT ? Am I misunderstanding something here?

Trumps was addressing Christians at this rally. The sort of Christians who do not vote. The reason they do not vote is not because they have anything against democracy or are antagonistic in any way towards those who do vote, but because they have indeed cast their one vote already, when they accepted their Christian King. I think Trump may have got hold of this, twisted it to his own ends, declared that God saved him from being shot and therefore he will be in power by divine right or similar and that his rule will end all further ruling regimes because God is on his side. In other words, declaring that he is the Christian King.
He might have missed the bit in the Bible where God tells Nebuchadnezzar that the basest of men can be given a crown if it fits the ultimate plan ...
Most interesting, all of it...

I think your interpretation is probably nearer the mark - and Trump does sometimes speak in mysterious ways that presumably he believes his followers will understand.

I do wonder though how he reconciles God saving him from the would-be assassin's bullet with it hitting and killing one of his audience. Presumably that was also part of God's plan.

No matter (it seems) - As one American has it (according to the legend on his draped flag around his shoulders, "God is my Saviour, Trump is my President". Trump has now achieved cult-status. I think quite a few will see him as both Saviour and President, and American Christianity is on the path toward seriously right-wing theocratic authoritarianism.

Voting for 16 year olds is ridiculous. Half of them aren't even allowed out of the house on their own. They are still referred to as children by most people. Hence the panic when they go walk about. More than half the 18 year olds didn't even bother to vote either.

Is there of a Christian in Donald Trump? At his inaugural church service four years ago he was in the front pew and when the cross came into view in the procession of the cross, he leaned across and spoke to one of the clergy. In my life I have never seen a member of the congregation do such a thing.

Then when he lost the election to Biden, and the January 6 debacle took place, he stood and watched, waving the Holy Bible in his hand, taking the Lord's name in vain. 'Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord in vain is one of the Commandments which Moses gave to the people.

It was as though he was saying: ''Look, I have God in the palm of my hand''.

When he said that God saved his life, as unchristian as that might be, I wanted to shout :' The ruler of this world is Satan'. God helps us when we ask him for help and he deems it necessary. Trump seems to thing that whether he believes in Christ or not, God is following behind him to save his life because he is such a good soul. I don't think it works that way, but I may be wrong of course.

If he wins, it will because he has little vocabulary and his speeches are full of repetition and pausing to look for words.

This appeals to the ordinary Americans, who think Trump understands them because he is talking down to them.

His speeches are full of repetition because that is a marketing tactic commonly used; a rule of persuasion. You can look up this repetitive speech method. It has been used by dictators as well as in adverts.
