Is anyone else suspicious about Edwards pay rise. In late 2023, the BBC were warned that he would be facing serious charges. This was reported today by the same BBC. He was suspended 5 months ago on full pay yet recently it was announced that he would receive a 40000 pounds pay rise even though there was little chance of him actually to be able to physically “earn” this money. A matter of a few weeks after the pay rise started to be paid, he resigned while still eligible for an enhanced lump sum and pension payments associated with the increased salary. There is a distinct odour of rodent here!!

They (bbc) put poor Cliff Richard through the wringer & yet continued to pay this nonce, either they didn’t believe he was guilty or that they weren’t bothered

GrannyGravy, I do hope you're being sardonic. After the plethora of scandals over the last decade involving royalty, politicians, television and radio presenters along with stars of the stage and screen (all of whom were high profile, successful, white middle aged men) you are actually surprised. Surely you don't really believe that those with fame and money possess higher moral standards and that paedophiles, liars and corrupt men are confined to the lower orders. Centuries of history would very, very much suggest otherwise.

We will never know but I feel it is highly likely he has friends in high places in the bbc and thats how he’s got away with not getting fired and getting such a massive pay rise even though he wasn’t working! He was known to be unpleasant to those who worked with him and complaints about this have been around for years. But like Saville etc he was untouchable to the establishment. He looks as arrogant today on his way into court as he is reputed to be. He is of the type that nothing touches and as for his mental health some of you feel sorry about, maybe you need to look at the filth he and his pals pass around and then maybe you’d see him for what he is. Children exploited in the vilest way, sickening.

Indeed GrannyGravy. I would actually suggest that there is more corruption at the top of society as those with money and influence have greater access and opportunity to indulge.

I understand that the other paedophile was convicted and investigations into his online history revealed Edwards involvement in receiving the images.

And wasn't this paedophile given a suspended sentence? I am sick and tired of these predators being given suspended sentences, it's as if the victims, children, count for nothing. I knew someone whose husband had accessed and downloaded these type of photos online. She described it as him making 'silly mistakes' but immediately protected her own children from him, and separated from him herself. Of course "he hadn't actually abused any children, that was the evil men in the photos." I couldn't make her understand that her husband's desire for the photos was every bit as much to blame as those that provided them.

Images of children being sexually abused remain available and continue to be shared. Imagine being a young mother of children now reaching the age at which your abuse started, say between 3 and 7 years. You’re not coping with your 3 children/. Their fathers are long gone so you’re on your own. New man arrives, seems perfect till you discover he’s a paedophile. Safeguarding meetings are informed by the police representative that those films and videos of you made over 20 years ago are still being circulated.
Every time someone views these images, the child is abused again.
The extent of sexual abuse and exploitation of children in society is difficult to comprehend.
Suspended sentences do nothing to prevent these men continuing to meet their depraved desires

It is all rather reminiscent of the hateful Jimmy Saville and how it was all covered up. I think these broadcasting companies need to take a good hard look at themselves.
