What on earth was going through the men’s minds (upwards of 50 of them) that thought this was an acceptable thing to do?

Her husband is a monster!

Not just her husband but the many men who raped her on his orders. I have huge respect for her. Poor poor woman. And the headline from The Telegraph about it was offensive

I’ve just read a bit of the court case - so brave of her to give evidence.

I have been reading her story with horror over this last week. Poor lady.

So good he was caught. I have been thinking Giselle must have been suffering all those years and not really knowing what was the matter with her. After he was found out, I'm sure the penny dropped. The monster deserves the severest punishment there is for this complete betrayal and I cant even put into words what an absolute AH he is.

It’s a horrendous case, I really struggle to understand what on earth she thought was happening to her overnight, she must of been bruised horrendously with other signs of the rapes. The fact she is being supported by her children will be contributing to her bravery in standing up to these beasts.
A very brave lady indeed.

Also the emotional effect of the harm to her body and psychological damage which would have happened even if she wasn't aware what had happened. She was drugged too, so also the effects of that which must have meant she suffered bad heath for years and had not known why.

It's just the ultimate betrayal from someone who vowed to love you.

It's a story which is almost beyond belief. That poor woman, but how brave and courageous of her to waive her anonymity and stand up in court and face her abusers. I hope she gets justice and that her evil brute of a husband and the rest of the accused are all found guilty and dealt with accordingly.

This is a truly sickening crime. The husband must have had her so gaslighted that she thought she was going mad. I hope that he and the ba#####s who took him up on his offer get the punishment they deserve. Poor,poor woman.

I don’t think he will see the light of day again.
To drug his daughter too and photograph her, I really don’t think there is anything this man isn’t capable of.
His life in prison will probably not be an easy one, there could be many more crimes he committed.

What I find very disturbing is that she had no idea what these disgusting men were doing to her because she was drugged.

I am sure this must have had a profound effect on her mental wellbeing. In the light of this, her bravery in coming forward so publicly is even more impressive. I hope it encourages other abused women to come forward.

Poor woman now has 4 sexually transmitted diseases and the trauma will stay with her forever.

I read about that. Horrific. How can any man be so barbaric.

I stopped reading the story, it was too upsetting. Her husband is indeed a monster.

Another horrific story. Some people are just pure evil.

Beyond sickening. Only 3 men refused as she was unconscious. 3 decent men.

I can’t read the reports of this dreadful case, but know enough to admire Mme Pelicot for the brave, strong woman that she is, and her children too.

I don't think the three men were that decent Aveline or they wouldn't have been there in the first place. Perhaps more decent than the others would be more accurate.

Imagine being married to man for 50 years and then suffering this heinous experience at his hands. There are no words.

Such an evil man.

Yes I imagine she was gaslighted. This is mental and emotional rape as well as physical. I always thought that no one knows what goes on in a marriage except the couple, but I had no idea that monsters like this existed.

None of the men were decent as they would not have been there, I did not realise such depravity existed. Her whole life a lie,, What about her children? Her husband should bd jailed for the rest of his life, the participants for 20 years.
