It’s meaningless though. Whatever so-called ‘gender’ they consider themselves to be, people are either male or female, and that’s the important bit.
In any case the ‘genders’ are constructed around out of date assumptions about the roles that used to be played by men and women (or girls and boys). Gender roles have moved on, and a female gender role may still encompass a liking for lipstick and frilly dresses, but also for pints of Guinness and Yorkie bars. Or a preference for jeans, Docs and tattoos, and a liking for Babycham and fairy cakes, Who cares? If someone has female gametes she is still a woman.
This just encourages introspection and (if these ‘genders’ carry rights with them) a sense of entitlement.
