I am amazed that GB news has any followers. It is dreadful. Each to their own but it is a no from me.

I would like to say I am surprised the BBC still has any viewers. But I can't. There are so many hateful, dreadful comments on here. All BBC viewers, no doubt!

love0c “so many hateful, dreadful comments” on this thread? Are you sure?

What do you mean “all BBC viewers”? Who?

Feel free to criticise the BBC if you want🤷‍♀️

My post has been clearly misunderstood. I only watch GB News. BBC is dreadful. Biased to the core! I find it dreadful that so many people actually support what the BBC puts out.

Prejudice is clearly a personal and individual matter, but to suggest GB news is unbiased defies belief.

You are right of course Maw in that GBNEWS is biased. It chimes with my values so I like it and watch it regularly.

That said, a balance of views is presented. For example Eamonn Holmes was interviewing some poor sod from Labour who was trying to defend the indefensible regarding Rachel Reeves fiscal decision in her Budget about the farmers.

I think Labour are constantly circling the wagons around her. I feel sorry for anyone putting her case forward.

Robust debates are often a feature on GBNews. They can get quite heated at times but (a) both sides are fairly represented and (b) it does us all good to hear the other side of an argument.
Apparently.

Well said FGT. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I like Michael Portillo too. I also like his travel programmes.

Me too! I think he’s really amusing

I agree that it is important to recognise bias.
I read the DT and The Times and (hope ) I am able to “filter” much of what I read. Times2, the puzzles and Matt are fortunately innocent of bias and can always be enjoyed!
I had hoped in the past that the BBC was even-handed but it has proved more than once that it is not. However to claim GB News is free from bias is a step too far.
I suppose the main thing about bias is that if it chimes with your own views and political persuasion, it is just not apparent!

Some of us get our news from several sources, I’m afraid my issue with GB News is Farage’s involvement.

I don’t agree with most of his views and I don’t think ANY serving MP should be working on shows of this nature. They should be concentrating on constituency work and being in parliament.

There are some good presenters on GB News, but to pretend that the show is balanced and unbiased is a stretch, imo.

Rosie Sorry crossed posts wink

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Mon 16-Dec-24 13:09:56

Just avoid Farage Cossy? I mostly do.
He’s become a tad irritating of late …

Ah, the challenge of recognizing bias, especially when it aligns with our own perspectives.

Many people may perceive certain outlets as more balanced when the reporting resonates with their beliefs. This phenomenon can lead to confirmation bias, where individuals seek out information that confirms their preconceptions. Just as, it seems, many of the posters on this thread are doing. There seems to be very little critical thinking going on.
